Succulent Garden meets Jar of Love

Hello, Crafters.

I think the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) has to be my most favourite DSP ever, and I'm really sorry to see it go! 

The positive side of it leaving is that there are some great new designs coming in - time will tell if any of them will knock Succulent Garden DSP off top place in my popularity stakes!

Today's card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest that had used the same DSP for two layers. 

I thought it's great way to use up some of my remaining DSP and cardstock (CS) as well as show off exactly what a gorgeous design this is! 

Apart from Whisper White CS, I used two colours of CS that are retiring at the end of this month.
 
Both Mint Macaroon and Tip Top Taupe are part of the 2015 - 2017 InColours.

I started my card with a base of Tip Top Tape CS, with a layer of Mint Macaroon CS and a top layer of the Succulent Garden DSP. 

I created a centre piece using the same layering pattern. 

This is not something I would have tried myself but having seen a card created by someone else, I knew it would work!

I adhered all the layers together using Tombow.

I took a piece of Whisper White CS and stamped the sentiment from the Guy Greetings Stamp Set using Sweet Sugarplum Ink.

I decorated around the sentiment using Sweet Sugarplum Ink and some small two-step stamping flowers from the Jar of Love Stamp Set.

I inked the background flower stamps with Sweet Sugarplum Ink, stamped off once, and then I stamped around the sentiment. 

Still using Sweet Sugarplum Ink, I stamped the second step of these flowers on top of the first image.

I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to die cut the sentiment, and layered it onto a piece of Mint Macaroon CS using one of the straight cut oval dies from the Layering Oval Dies.
 
I then layered this onto a Tip Top Taupe CS oval I'd die cut from a larger oval die from the Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies. 

Then I stamped another five sets of the two flowers in the same way as on the sentiment, and then die cut them using the Everyday Jars Framelits.

I adhered them around the outside Succulent Garden DSP border. 

I didn't make the flowers 3D as I thought it'd make the card look too busy!

I took a piece of Whisper White CS for the inside layer and stamped a row of the Swet Sugarplum flowers along the bottom. 

Then I adhered this sheet to a layer of Mint Macaroon CS, and then adhered it inside to the card base. 

There are other embellishments I played with but I decided enough was enough!
