Screen Cards

Hi, Crafters.

Have you seen the
new Screen cards?
The design of the
card is awesome
and I've made two
for special occasions.
One is still in the
post so I'll save that
for later in the week
but this is the first
one. It's a
personalised
wedding card.

Most of the cards
I've seen have
been decorated on
the four sides
visible but I do
five sides. This
means there is
a decorated
side still visible
when the card
is closed.

The Bridal Couple
on the front of the
card is from a
download that
was given away
with a card
magazine a few
years back. I
have used it so
many times because
it lends itself to
having a lace veil
attached  a 3D
bouquet added. I
wish I could
remember which
magazine gave this
away as I would like
to give them a really
big thank you.

I am particularly pleased with the hearts punched
along the top of the card. I used a new Stampin'
Up! punch and worked out how  I could do it
without finishing up with any broken hearts at either end!

It's a small detail but makes such a difference!

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

Personalised Wedding Cards

Quite some time ago, one of the British card making magazines provided readers
with free downloads for making wedding cards.
It takes a great deal of patience to make one of these cards but, my oh my, it's so
very relaxing and satisfying. I think there were about six different downloads
altogether but I always use the same one. Each card is slightly different
from the others with the biggest difference being the bouquet of flowers.

These photographs show just four of the cards I've made using the download.
Each card has a lace train but I vary the products I use for the flowers.

The first card here was for Marc and Carol. I made their wedding stationery
and the bride's mother, a friend of mine, asked me to make a wedding card
for her and husband to give to their daughter and their new son-in-law.

This last card was for a lovely couple who live in Australia,
over the road from where my elderly parents live.
My Mother asked if I could make something special for Sean and Liz
as they are really good to my parents.

100 Swaps Completed!

Today I finished the 100 swaps that I will be taking to the Stampin' Up! Regional Event in Telford this Saturday. We are asked to make card fronts with the "recipe" on the back that lists all the products used. Hopefully, I will come home with 100 ideas from other demonstrators that I can show you next week.

In an earlier post, I showed you the Wedding Card front that I was making. This is what 100 swaps look like.

TELFORD CONVENTION - 17th MAY 2014

I've registered for the Stampin' Up! event that's being held on 17th. May 2014. There are many good reasons for going to this, not least because we get a preview of the new 2014/2015 annual catalogue that will be launched on 1st. July, 2014. Although there are a lot of highlights of the day, my favourite is that demonstrators take sample greeting card fronts they have made and swap with other demonstrators. Not only is it a fantastic way of getting to know other people easily but also a great way of collecting loads of different card making ideas.

Today I made my first swap! It's a wedding card, although it's can be made for any occasion by changing the sentiment.
Wedding Card swap for Telford SU Event on 17.05.14

Note: I need to use a different embossing folder as one of the rules for swaps is that all products used must be in the current catalogues - this one is from Sale-a-Bration which ended on 31.03.14
