NEW Stampin' Up! In Colours 2014-2016

This afternoon I started making a card I loved as soon as I saw it demonstrated.
As I was working away, I decided that I would try and make one card
in each of the five new In Colours that will be launched on 1st July.
The names are Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow
and Tangelo Twist.

The first I made is in Crisp Cantaloupe which is one of last year's in colours.
The new In Colour I am showing you this evening is Lost Lagoon.
I added more to the flowers on this card and changed the pearls for diamantes.

Tomorrow's card will be in Blackberry Bliss.

Faux Silk Technique

Three weeks ago, when I was planning the projects for today's workshops, I decided that I wanted to do faux silk for one of the techniques. I made five cards altogether but wasn't 100% happy with any of them!

Last week I saw someone demonstrating the technique and she achieved the look I had been trying for. This spurred me on to have another try. Boy, am I pleased I did! The result was exactly what I had hoped for.

These are the photographs of the two cards I made today. They are very tactile - the "silk" feels so soft.

Projects Are Ready

Today I have prepared everything I need for this month's workshops, including the three instruction sheets that I give to my attendees. I don't think I have ever been ready so much in advance. It's a lovely feeling knowing that I'm not going to have a last minute panic!

The three projects are Butterfly Glitter Windows Card, Faux Silk Card and Dry Wipe Board.

I also have a card ready for the Stampin' Up! charity and one for the pin board on Saturday. It has really been a very productive day today!

This is not a mistake!

Today I have made two personalised birthday cards for one of my customers and started on a baptism card for another customer. I'll post the photographs once the occasions have been celebrated.

I have also been working on one of the cards for my workshops on 31st May 2014. The technique is called faux silk. It's created by stamping on tissue paper, screwing it up, unravelling it and smoothing it out. Then it is adhered to card stock continuing to smooth it out as you work. The resulting "crinkles" make it look like silk. Making the card has been a real pleasure - I've made five so far. My problem has been trying to photograph them without them looking as if I have messed up! I persevered and have succeeded - what do you think?

I have posted this photograph as extra-large to emphasise the crinkles that give the background the faux silk look.
