Today's Video - Gift Box Punch Board Box

Hello, Crafters.

I've just uploaded
today's video which
has a name that's
a bit of a mouthful!

This is the link:
Gift Box Punch Board Box

In last week's video
I said I had given
up trying to make
boxes with the Gift
Box Punch Board
because I was
defeated every
time with the
closure.

As soon as I heard
myself say that,
I thought "That
doesn't sound like
you JanB!" and
knew I'd have to
give it another
try.

I received a
message from
one of my YouTube
subscribers who
suggested that I
could use a belly
band as an
alternative.

So that was it
- I was on a
mission and this
video is the result.

I now love my Gift
Box Punch Board!

If you're like me
and really struggle
with the closure,
watch my video.

I used our beautiful
new ribbon and tied
my box closed.

I also showed the
first box I made, the
largest one, where
I used a magnet for
the closure.

So that's three
different possible
alternative closures
for this box.

I also adhered the
sides of my box
closed as I wasn't
happy with the
way the box "burst"
open.

If you have found
other ways to
close these boxes,
I'd love to hear
from you.

Until tomorrow,
happy crafting.

Dates are Up-To-Date

Hello, Crafters.

I hope you're all
enjoying the
weekend.

I have achieved an
amazing amount
today!

Apart from my
classes, I've also
managed to sort out
my new filing unit for
my card stock.

The new unit holds
all current colours
and all retired colours
are now in the
bottom drawer of
my desk.

I have also updated
my Events page so
all my classes and
craft shows have
now been listed.

No doubt there will
be more craft shows
in the run up to
Christmas and I will
make sure I update
my Events page as
soon as future bookings
have been confirmed.

After such a busy
day, hubby and I went
out for a superb,
relaxing meal - what
a lovely way to
finish a great day.

I'm now planning my day tomorrow, which is my videoing day. I know three that I'm going to do but there should be a fourth but I can't think what on earth I was going to do. It'll come back to me all in good time!

At some stage I will make a video about the berry baskets but that one is still in the planning stage. Watch this space!

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

YouTube Video!

Hello Crafters.

I hope you've had
a great weekend.

Today I made my
first card making
tutorial video .....
..........or should that
be card making
video tutorial?? I
now have to get
it uploaded onto
YouTube but not
today.

The first video was
18 munutes long! I
spent a lot of time
waffling.....talk about
being able to waffle
for England. The third
and final video is 10
minutes 54 seconds
- still plenty of room
for improvement but
overall I'm really
pleased with the result.

These are the cards I
made....yes, three cards,
three video attempts!
The frst card was the
Pistachio Pudding, then
the two Strawberry
Slush cards.

I based the design of this
card on the Island Indigo
card I posted last Thursday.
Unfortunately, I used
several retired products
for that one and I wanted
to re-do it with current
products.

Until tomorrow, happy
crafting.

A Week in Devon - Woodcote Shopping Event 12.07.14

Hello Crafters.

We arrived back home this afternoon after spending the week in
Devon visiting some old friends. First it was my old schoolfriend
Liz, and her husband Steve. I met up with Liz for the first time
since schooldays in June last year. We were also able to meet
their two children, four grandchildren and Liz's mum.

We also met up with
a couple of my partner's
friends, Janet and
Richard. I met them
15 years ago when
I first starting seeing
my partner. During the
week we had some
really fabulous time
with both couples.

The only downside was that
someone smacked my car while it
was in the hotel car park. Fortunately,
we have a witness, the culprit's
details - a visitor from Spain
driving an English hire car - a
copy of his hire agreement and
a copy of the CCTV film.
Although the damage isn't massive,
I still need to get it sorted
out! Grrrr!!
Never mind. I have a craft show to focus
on now. It's at one of our local high
schools - Woodcote High. It's a two hour
shopping event and it will be the first
time I have done this one. I'll let you
know how I get on.

Finally, I thought you might like to see all of this week's book
markers together.

Happy a great weekend and happy crafting.

Mossy Meadow Book Markers

Hello Crafters.
Today's book markers have been made using
Mossy Meadow.

The first one I stamped the background using
Mossy Meadow ink and the large stamp from
the Everything  Eleanor stamp set. I did the same
as I did yesterday. I checked the Mossy
Meadow ziplock bag and found these stamped
flowers from the Petite Petals stamp
set. I adhered them in a totally random way making
sure a couple of them went off the edge. These
 two were trimmed to size.

I used the flower punch of the Itty Bitty Punch Set
to make six centres for the flowers. The centre
of each flower was drawn
with the white gel pen.

The final touch was sponging the edges with
Mossy Green ink.

For the second book marker I decided to use two colours
- Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist.

I stamped the background with the En
Francais stamp using Mossy
Meadow ink. I found the large
stamped flowers from the Flower
Shop stamp set in the Tangelo
Twist ziplock bag and the smaller
flowers from the Petite Petals stamp
set in the Mossy Meadow ziplock
bag!

As with the previous book marker,
I used the flower punch of the Itty
Bitty Punch Set to make six centres
for the flowers. The centre of each
flower this time was made by making
several dots using the white
gel pen.

The final touch was sponging the edges with Mossy Green ink.

Tomorrow, I will show you this book marker with the colours
reversed.

Do you have a favourite book marker, yet?

Happy crafting.
