Wild About Flowers Video

Hello, Crafters.

Today's card was inspired by the wedding invitation I made for Vicki ealier this year.

I wanted to add the colour column at the end of the card and then make it part of the overall design.

I thought about scoring the card in "half" at a different position, so it created a larger card, and wouldn't need the folded back column.

The measurements I tried using made it too big for our standard envelopes.

I could have carried on and then given intructions for making an envelope that would fit.
I decided against that option.

My instructions include two strips 1" x 5 3/4".

A narrower strip could be used for the second strip but, by keeping it at 1" made it easier for affixing it to the folded back strip, as the finished width of the exposed piece needed to be a specific width.

On the Delightful Dijon and Watermelon Wonder cards, the bows would look a lot better in the same featured colour rather than white.

A friend in Australia came up with the excellent suggestion of colouring the Baker's Twine, using ink or Marker Pens.

I always think about doing that at the last minute when it's too late because I need to allow a bit of drying time.

This is why I get called lastminute.com! LOL!

If you decide to make this card, I would recommend you colour some Baker's Twine  well in advance, or take the easy option and buy some!

Although I've never been keen on Delightful Dijon and Watermelon Wonder, I think they really come into their own with this stamp set, Watermelon Wonder in particular!

The flowers make me think of poppies, one of my favourite flowers!

I'm going to give myself a challenge, regarding my videos - fingers crossed! I'll start by making it easy, and extend it if I'm able to keep up with it!

For five Wednesdays' videos, I'm going to make "fancy fold" cards! Watch this space!

That's it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

  1. Absolutely love this card project Jan, and I will be making it. I even liked the cornflower blue one WITH the little bee! I'll make it exactly as you've given the measurements for and then translate it into our North American A2 card size afterwards. It's really and truly a lovely card! Great stamp set too! One of my favourites! Thanks so much for sharing!
