Easter Message

Hello, Crafters.

Apparently, it's snowing in Turkey and Greece and it's heading towards the UK, just in time for the weekend. 

I hope it snows itself out by the time it gets here!

Yesterday, I saw a video of someone sharing 134 swaps she'd received, all made with products from the new catalogue. 

Unfortunately, it all went very quickly because, as the demo explained, it takes a long time to show 134 cards! 

There were lots of great cards but the one that really sticks in my mind was an Easter card, which is what has inspired today's card. 

I think we all know it's difficult to show the real beauty of a card that's been decorated using the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. 

Fortunately the demo held the card in various directions so the viewer could see it brilliantly - it looked stunning! 

I started today's card with a card base of Cajun Craze Cardstock (CS), then a layer of  Whisper White CS and a top layer of the spotted Crumb Cake design from the Neutrals Collection Designer Series Paper (DSP). 

Using Tombow, I adhered the three layers together. 

Then I took two pieces of Whisper White CS, and wiped over them both with my Embossing Buddy. 

Using Versamark, I inked the Cross image from the Easter Message Stamp Set and stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White CS. 

Then I took the sentiment stamp from the same stamp set, and repeated the process. 

I sprinkled Copper Embossing powder on both images and put them to one side. 

Then I took the Whisper White CS liner for the inside of my card and wiped over it using my Embossing Buddy.

I repeated the process again, but this time I used the palm leaf image. 

Using my Heat Tool, I heat set the two images and the sentiment. 

I wanted to add some colour to the Cross using my watercolour pencils, but I only wanted a hint of colour.

I decided to do a test on some scrap paper first, and started with Early Espresso. 

It gave an amazingly soft colour, so I went ahead and coloured my embosed image. 

Then I started colouring the shroud with my Clear Wink of Stella Pen - in real life it looks amazing! 

Photograph 6 gives quite a good idea of the effect achieved. 

I die cut the image using the largest scallop die from the Layering Oval Framelits, no. 7, and layered it on a straight cut oval which had been die cut with the largest die, no. 8. 

I used scalloped die no 2 for the sentiment and leyered it on a straight cut oval die, no. 3. 

I used Tombow for all the adhering on this card, including the layer inside the card.
