Sometimes I surprise myself with the amount of patience I have, sometimes! Yesterday was one of those times.
I love the flowers in this stamp set. With the card I shared last week, the flowers were part of the Happy Birthday Stamp.
Today's flowers are a separate stamp, so I was able to do a line top and bottom. Then I stamped some on scrap paper and fussy cut them, so I could adhere them on both sides to form an oval. I also made three more to decorate the inside of the card.
Before I started, I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of paper to see whether I was in with a chance of completing it. The last thing I wanted was to start, get bored and then get clumsy! It felt so relaxing and I enjoyed doing it. I'm sure some of you will be thinking "You've got to be joking!", or something similar! LOL!
I started my card with a base of Whisper White Cardstock (CS), a layer of Peekaboo Peach CS and a top layer of Whisper White CS.
Before I started colouring, I used my Heat Tool to make sure the images were completely. I used Wild Wasabi and Peekaboo Peach Marker Pens to colour the flowers and the leaves. When they were done, I decided to paint the letters of HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Once I'd finished this, I thought I'd join the flowers up with more flowers to make an oval. I thought of three ways to do this!
First was to cover large areas of the stamp with tape, ink the stamp, remove the tape and stamp the image. I decided against that because the stamp was far too big and would need several strips of tape. My patience doesn't stretch that far! Haha!
I settled on the third and easiest soloution. I stamped several images onto scraps of Whisper White CS, coloured them and then fussy cut them.
My final touch was that I adhered a layer of Whisper White CS on the inside and added three more fussy cut flowers.
That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
