Wonder of Christmas

Hello, Crafters. 

This is definitely the final card I'll be making using the fussy cut images from the Peace This Christmas Stamp Set that I did a couple of weeks ago!

All I have left now is one fircone in Soft Suede and one in Early Espresso - no branches and no berries! LOL!

The basis of my card was inspired by the collar fold card, sometimes it’s called the fold back card. 

I wondered what it would look like if the collar was folded the other way, and this is the answer!

To create a collar fold card, you have to cut the Designer Series Paper (DSP) layer halfway down and in towards the centre about halfway. 

Then the cut points are folded back like a collar.  

Instead of doing it this way, I marked halfway down the portrait side on the right-hand side, and also marked halfway across the top and the bottom. 

Then I scored from the top point to the side point, on the top and the bottom, and then folded both pieces backwards to reveal the reverse design.

I knew this would leave me two Whisper White Cardstock (CS) corners where I’d be able to adhere a pine branch with a pinecone and some berries. 

I just couldn’t picture in my mind’s eye what the centre point and the Cherry Cobbler folded back triangles would look like!

I started my card with a Whisper White CS base, with a layer of Mint Macaroon CS and a top layer of Whisper White CS. 

Using Tombow, I adhered all three layers together. 
 
I took a piece of the Presents & Pinecones DSP, which measured the same as the top Whisper White layer, and scored and folded as described above. 

When I’d folded the two corners back, anchoring them with a Glue Dot, I applied Tombow and adhered the DSP to the card base.

I chose the sentiment from the Wonder of Christmas Stamp Set and stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White CS using Mint Macaroon Ink. 

Using the third largest square die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies, I die cut the sentiment and adhered it to a piece of Mint Macaroon I’d die cut using one of the scalloped Layering Squares Framelits Dies. 
 
I applied Dimensionals on the back of the sentiment and positioned it on the card base so that the straight top edge went from corner to corner on the folded DSP. 

This left a small gap between the base of the sentiment and the tip of the point, so I used Tombow to adhere a pine branch to more or less cover the gap and added some  berries.

I could have left the two Whisper White corners blank, but I felt the card looked somwhat bare!

To counteract this, I used Tombow and glued one branch, one pinecone and one bunch of berries into each corner.

I was really pleased with the effect but I then felt the top was lacking something! 

For my final touch, I added three very fine strips of the Cherry Cobbler DSP and glued them across the top. 

It's something a bit different and I'm happy with the result!
