Gold Cat Treat Box Video

Hello, Crafters.

This morning I uploaded my second treat box video which was one of two Scalloped Tag Topper swaps I received at Telford, at the beginning of the month.

I posted the first video, Wendy's Treat Box on Sunday. At a quick glance both boxes look the same.

The difference is that Wendy's Treat Box is like a box, in as much as it has fixed sides and flaps.

The Gold Cat Treat box is held together as a box by using a belly band.

I found both boxes were a pleasure to make and I like the finished look of them both.

I really don't prefer one over the other!

The one main difference between them is that Wendy's box is closed in as a proper box, with side panels, a flap and tabs.

The Gold Cat box has a gap between the base of the sides and the base.

With a box like this, it really isn't an issue because they wouldn't be used for holding very small items that are likely to fall out the small gaps at the bottom.

Using a belly band like this seems to becoming a popular way of building boxes.

I think it works well. Going foward, when I need a small box like this, I'll probably toss a coin to decide which one to make!

The following time, I'd just make whichever one I didn't on the previous occasion!

I used Emerald Envy Cardstock (CS) and ribbon for these boxes. The coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) is Presents & Pinecones DSP.

I used the reindeer, and the gingerbread boy and girl for the images. These are from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set. There's a coordinating punch that also punches out the images.

I stamped the gingerbread boy and girl on Whisper White CS using Soft Suede ink. Using the Cookie Cutter punch, I punched out a bow tie for the boy and a hairbow for the girl, and two buttons for each of them, using Cherry Cobbler CS.

I stamped the reindeer on Crumb Cake CS using Soft Suede ink and punched them out using the Cookie Cutter Punch.

I stamped the nose on a piece of Cherry Cobbler CS and cut it out by hand. I adhered it using Tombow.

I'm off out early this morning as I have a routine check up at the hospital, and I have a few arrands to run before I can come back home for a nice cup of tea!

So until tomorrow, have a great day, and happy crafting.

JanB.
