Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday
I successfully made six Freestanding Post-it Note Holders but didn't
get as far as decorating them.
I allowed myself to become a bit
carried away with actually making the units, I didn't leave myself
enough time to complete them!
For today's card, I
wanted to use all the stamps in the Penned & Painted Stamp Set to
see what the three flowers looked like.
Because the process was
more or less the same for all three cards, I'm going to describe just
one and that one is the card with five little flowers in a cluster.
To
create my cards I started with a card base of Whisper White Cardstock,
followed by a layer of the new Sweet Sugarplum and a top layer of
Whisper White.
To give the top layer some character I dry embossed it
using the Petal Burst Embossing folder.
I adhered both layers to the
card base using Tombow.
I
started with Olive Green Ink and stamped the outline stem onto a piece
of Whisper White.
Then I stamped over it with the full stem stamp which I'd
stamped off first.
Fortunately, this is a photopolymer stamp set, so
getting all the various parts lined up was easy!
The next stamp I used
was the one where the stem branched out into five smaller stems.
I've
been using two-step and three-step stamping a lot over the last couple
of weeks and definitely find it easier to stamp the darkest,
outline stamp first.
Using
Sweet Sugarplum Ink, I stamped five small outline flowers on the top of
the small stems.
Then I stamped off the full-colour stamp once, and
stamped into the middle of the outline images.
As far as I could see,
this stamp doesn't line up with the outline stamp and therefore I didn't
try to!
Looking at the result, I think I'm correct in my thinking.
Using Old
Olive Ink and the outline stamp, I stamped the leaves in position so they were either side of the stem.
Then I
inked up the largest full base stamp and stamped off once before lining
it up with the outline stamp, which again, was very easy to do.
Next I
inked up the partial base stamp but didn't stamp off, I went for the
full strength colour.
I can't say I particularly like the flowers but the result is just amazing!
I
didn't want to leave my image with a plain white background so decided
to use the large splatter stamp from the Touches of Texture Stamp Set with Old Olive Ink.
I
stamped off once pressing down firmly before stamping onto my
image.
I love the result.
I
die-cut the image using the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies and layered
it onto a piece of Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock which I'd die cut with one of the scalloped oval dies.
I used Tombow to adhere
this to the card base.
For
the sentiment I decided to use the frame from the Awesomely Artistic
Stamp Set and stamped it in Sweet Sugarplum Ink on a piece of Whisper
White Cardstock.
I chose the sentiment from the Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set
and stamped it inside the frame using Old Olive Ink.
Although there is a die in the Project Life Cards & Labels
Framelits that fits this image, I fussy cut it because it was so easy.
I attached the sentiment to the card
using Dimensionals and finished off by adhering small pearls in the
centres of all the flowers.
I
followed the same steps with the other two cards with the only
difference being that I coloured the centres of the flowers using my Daffodil
Delight Marker Pen.
Today
I need to concentrate on making Sunday's video as well as getting everything ready for Saturday.
I have a
stall in a marquee at the Chipstead Village Fete and Flower Show.
That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

Oh my, these are just gorgeous, Jan! Love your colour choices and that embossing folder is just perfection for the background. Really beautiful cards all the way! Love them!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Geraldine. I love the embossing folder, too. I like the all over design. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
