Touches of Texture

Hello, Crafters.

I've found the Touches Of Texure Stamp Set amazingly versatile! Surprisingly, it wasn't on my first list of must-haves.

Although the flower on today's card suggests that this set is two-step stamping, it isn't in the true sense of the meaning. The outline flower and the solid flower go really well together but there is no way they will line up.

To make today's card I started with a card base of Dapper Denim Cardstock, with a layer of Whisper White, and then a top layer of Dapper Denim.

On this top layer, I used Dapper Denim Ink on the long lacy-type stamp and stamped a border round four sides.

I took a much smaller layer of Whisper White to stamp my image in. The first stamp was the stem with the leaves and I used Wild Wasabi Ink. I positioned it a little way up from the bottom so I had room for a sentiment.

Then I used Dapper Denim Ink and stamped the flower outline stamp on top of the stem.

Next I inked the "splodgey" looking flower in Dapper Denim Ink, stamped it off, then stamped it inside the outline flower.

I wasn't concerned that parts would come outside the outline, as long as it was largely in the centre, I'd be happy.

I used my Dapper Denim Marker Pen and coloured in the centre of the flower so it was solid colour and then I painted over it with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

Then I inked up the largest splatter stamp in Dapper Denim Ink, stamped it off once and stamped on the lower half of the image.

I cleaned the stamp, and inked up using the Wild Wasabi Ink, stamped off once and stamped on top half of the image.

Using Archival Basic Black Ink, I stamped the bee near the flower and coloured him in using my So Saffron Marker Pen. I painted his wings using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

The sentiment is from the Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set and I stamped it along the bottom of the image in Dapper Denim Ink. I adhered the image in the centre of the top Dapper Denim layer and tied a ribbon round with a bow, which I'd made using my bowmaker!

Then I adhered this to the top of the Whisper White layer and then onto the card base.

I was left with two fairly large areas of plain white under the ribbon, on either side of the sentiment.

I inked up the littled borderless flower, stamped it off then stamped twice on one side, then I repeated this on the other side.

The first part of my day today will be spent making a few of the Freestanding Post-It Note Holders that I'm offering to all my July online customers. I've decided if I make some everyday, I won't finish up in a panic at the end of the month!

Have a great day and happy crafting,

JanB.
