I know I said I wasn't going to share any of the new products with you yet because launch day is too far away. Unfortunately, I was in a pickle when I was making this card yesterday and I found these new dies helped me out brilliantly.
I had adhered the ribbon around the top two layers and adhered the image. I used the Crazy About You Stamp Set to stamp Happy Mother's Day directly onto the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack under the image.
I inked the photopolymer stamp, lined it up and stamped but it smudged by the M in Mother's! I was not happy!
I tried all sorts of punches and dies to re-do the sentiment. This failed so I changed sentiment and I tried World's Best Mother from the retiring A Nice Cuppa Stamp Set. Nothing worked to my satisfaction. Then I saw the pack of Layering Square Framelits Dies sitting on my desk!
I experimented with them and loved the result! The set contains 9 straight edge squares dies and 10 scalloped edge square dies. You can see from my card the gap between layers is a nice width - it's about 1/8th of an inch.
I had the choice to use a straight square onto scallop, scallop onto straight, straight onto straight, or scallop onto scallop.
I started my card with a base of Crumb Cake with a layer of Blushing Bride and a top layer of a design from the Love Blossoms DSP Stack.
I adhered the top two layers together using Tombow and then wrapped some Sahara Sand 7/8" Lace Trim around both side edges and adhered at the back with Fast Fuse.
Then I adhered this to the card base using Tombow.
I stamped the flower image from the Birthday Blooms Stamp Set onto Whisper White Card Stock using Black Archival Ink. Then I used the Blushing Bride, Crushed Curry and Garden Green Marker Pens to colour the flower image.
I painted over with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen before fussy cutting it.
I stamped the sentiment onto some Whisper White Card Stock using Early Espresso Ink.
I die cut it using the no. 6 scalloped die and layered it onto a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock I'd die cut using the no. 7 scalloped die. I used the Basic Pearls to decorate each corner of the sentiment.
The last photograph today shows the Layering Square Framelits Dies as they arrive. This is the first project I have made using these dies and I love them.
Even more exciting is that these layering dies will also be available in circles, ovals and hearts as from 1st June 2016!
That's about all for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
