Gift from the Garden

Hello, Crafters.

This morning I posted my video showing how I made my Two Cats in a Cup card that I shared here on last Friday - please see the last photograph.

Today's card is the first card I've made using the Gift from the Garden Stamp Set. I have to admit, I wasn't going to buy this stamp set until I saw a beautiful card made by a friend of mine.

On today's card I have, successfully I think, used two pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from two different sets. The Hello Honey fluff balls is from the Wildflower Fields DSP which is only available during Sale-A-Bration (SAB) as a free product. The flowery DSP is from the Botanical Gardens DSP which is in the Spring catalogue.

To create this card I started with a card base of Hello Honey Cardstock with a layer of Whisper White. I adhered the Whisper White layer to my card base and then I cut two pieces of DSP the same size and adhered them to the card front.

I wanted something to go over the join but not ribbon. I decided to use a strip of Whisper White and added another strip above and a third strip below. Although it is a bit lost on this card, I think this would look great on the right card where more is visible.

I inked the three flower pot stamp by painting it with marker pens. I started with Cajun Craze for the actual flower pots and then used three different greens for the leaves: going from left to right Wild Wasabi, Old Olive and Garden Green. The yellow flowers were painted using Hello Honey.

I huffed on the stamp before stamping and I'm really pleased with the very rustic look of the flower pots - although I would have been disappointed if I'd wanted a solid colour. If you don't like this look, you could cover the leaves, stamp onto a Cajun Craze Ink Pad,  remove the cover and then paint the leaves and flowers with Market Pens.

I die cut the image using the number 4 die of the Ovals Collection Framelits. Then I used numbers 3 and 4 together to die cut the Hello Honey oval frame.

I used my retired Oval piercing template to create the holes around the frame. This could be done freehand if you don't have the template. I adhered the frame on to the image using Tombow Glue and then painted the frame with the Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Pen.

Using Cajun Craze Ink, I stamped the banner from the You're So Lovely Stamp Set twice onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Then I stamped Happy onto one banner and Birthday onto the other one - both of these words are from the Number of Years Stamp Set.
I die cut them using the die from the Large Numbers Framelits Dies. I adhered both banners and the oval image to the card front using Dimensionals.

I'm off to work again today, so until tomorrow, happy crafting.
