A World of Thanks

Hello, Crafters.

I bought the A World Of Thanks Stamp a few month ago but didn't get round to using it until yesterday. It's a real beauty of a stamp!

I've had to cut my cardstock around the size of the stamp - I couldn't use my regular sizes unless I was happy to have blank white strips along two sides. My finished card is normally 4 1/8" x 5 3/4" - this one is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". 

To make my card, I started with the top layer of Whisper White which I'd cut to my regular size. I wiped all over it with my Embossing Buddy to remove any greasy finger marks and static. 

I inked the stamp with Versamark and then laid my cardstock on top. I placed some scrap paper on top of that and carefully applied pressure all over making sure I didn't move my top layer.

I sprinkled Silver Embossing Powder over the stamped image and heat embossed it. I used my paper cutter to trim off all the white areas that hadn't been embossed.

Then I used this as a guide to cut a piece of Silver Foil as the mat for my image. Then I did the same for the next layer of Whisper White and finally for my card base of Smokey Slate Cardstock. Although it's not a "normal" size card, it still fits in one of Stampin' Up! regular envelopes.

I used the Botanicals Builder Framelits Dies, Pink Pirouette Cardstock and Silver Foil, to die cut three different flowers. I think this is probably a first for me because I normally do all three flowers the same or one large and two smaller!

I adhered the top three layers together using Tombow and then wrapped the ribbon around and tied a bow at the front. Then I adhered the image to the card base, again with Tombow. 

I adhered each layer of each flower with Dimensionals and adhered them to the card base, again with Dimensionals.

Although I was pleased with how my card looked, I felt it was lacking something. For me, this isn't just a normal everyday thank you card - it's a very special thank you card. I checked the sentiments on my stamp sets and found this one in the Rose Wonder Stamp Set and knew it was absolutely spot on - I would have preferred the word SOMEHOW not to be on there but never mind! 

I wiped over another piece of Whisper White Cardstock with my Embossing Buddy and inked the stamp in Versamark. I heat embossed it using Silver Embossing Powder. It was punched out with the Washi Tape Punch and layered onto a piece of Pink Piroutte with a 1/8" edge all round. My final step was to adhere the sentiment to the card base using Dimensionals.
