I bought the A World Of Thanks Stamp a few month ago but didn't get round to using it until yesterday. It's a real beauty of a stamp!
I've had to cut my cardstock around the size of the stamp - I couldn't use my regular sizes unless I was happy to have blank white strips along two sides. My finished card is normally 4 1/8" x 5 3/4" - this one is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
I inked the stamp with Versamark and then laid my cardstock on top. I placed some scrap paper on top of that and carefully applied pressure all over making sure I didn't move my top layer.
I sprinkled Silver Embossing Powder over the stamped image and heat embossed it. I used my paper cutter to trim off all the white areas that hadn't been embossed.
Then I used this as a guide to cut a piece of Silver Foil as the mat for my image. Then I did the same for the next layer of Whisper White and finally for my card base of Smokey Slate Cardstock. Although it's not a "normal" size card, it still fits in one of Stampin' Up! regular envelopes.
I adhered the top three layers together using Tombow and then wrapped the ribbon around and tied a bow at the front. Then I adhered the image to the card base, again with Tombow.
I adhered each layer of each flower with Dimensionals and adhered them to the card base, again with Dimensionals.
I wiped over another piece of Whisper White Cardstock with my Embossing Buddy and inked the stamp in Versamark. I heat embossed it using Silver Embossing Powder. It was punched out with the Washi Tape Punch and layered onto a piece of Pink Piroutte with a 1/8" edge all round. My final step was to adhere the sentiment to the card base using Dimensionals.
Well, that's it for today - I'm off to work now, so until tomorrow, happy crafting.

What a gorgeous "Thank You" card, one that will warm the heart of any recipient, for sure. As you say, a very special thank you card though ... it has made me take a second look at that stamp too, I confess ... might just need to add it to my list! : -)
ReplyDeleteHi, Geraldine. I'm going to have another try using this stamp set for a more general thank you card! Happy crafting, JanB. ☺
DeleteThis is a stunning card! I'd love to know if you have any tips for tying such a straight ribbon bow! Xx
ReplyDeleteHi, Jessie. I'm really pleased you like my card. I think tying bows is one of the most difficult things we do! Please don't think I get it right first time, every time! LOL! The best way I can explain making bows is to say make sure you keep all the ribbon flat/straight all the time. That is, wrap it all around the card; fold one piece over the other so they are going north and south: make sure where they are actually crossing each other that both ribbons are flat; holding the fold flat with your middle finger, fold one piece of ribbon in half, making sure you keep it flat; still holding the fold down, wrap the other end of the ribbon round the first end you have folded, making sure the ribbon stays flat, and pull it through. I hope that makes sense. Maybe I could do a step-by-step photo tutorial on my blog which has to be a lot easier than trying to put it into words. Let me know if you can work out my instructions above. If they're rubbish, let me know and I'll try photographs. Happy crafting, JanB.
