Hello, Crafters.
Having spent the day crafting with the Wonderland Stamp Set on Sunday, I've chosen it as my challenge for this week.
Obviously, it's not going to be too much of a challenge for me but I need to keep it quite simple this week. Thursday next week, 12th. November, 2015 we're going to the Stampin' Up! Convention in Brussels.
This means I need to make 120 swaps, get ahead of myself with videos so I can carry on uploading them while I'm away and also plan for my daily blog. Plus, this is a working week for me, too! Oh, yes, it's hubby's birthday on the 5th!
Please don't think I'm complaining, I'm definitely not! Although I have a lot on my plate at the moment, as long as I plan ahead and stay focussed, I'll get through it smiling.
I'm really pleased to say that yesterday hubby collected my bag of projects I'd left behind on Sunday. We made a total of five cards, two pillow boxes and a bag - a total of eight projects in one day.
The card you see here is card number one for this week and is based on one of Sunday's projects. Unfortunately, I didn't photograph the inspiration card but the main change I made was to add two layers. I very rarely ever like single layer cards.
So this card started with a card base of Whisper White, followed by a layer of Gold Foil and a top layer of Whisper White, which was embossed with the Woodland Embossing Folder.
The central image was created using stamps from the Wonderland Stamp Set. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure the sentiment was straight and stamped it with black StazOn Ink.
The fir branch and cones were stamped with Versamark and heat embossed using Gold Embossing Powder.
I took one of the smallest Snowflake Elements, stamped it with Versamark and then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder - this is another change I made to the inspiration card. I repeated this process to get a beautifully thick layer as can be seen in the photographs.
I adhered the snowflake, using Tombow glue, in the bottom left hand corner of the image sheet. Then I used Tombow again to adhere one of the smaller Iced Rhinestones to the centre of the snowflake. I layered the image sheet onto a layer of Gold Foil, again with Tombow and then adhered to card base using Dimensionals. The inspiration card also had some Gold Cord wrapped around the top and had two snowflake elements added as well.
Do you remember the card I posted as challenge card no.2 for last week's challenge, Wonderful Wreath - see last photograph? In my blog I'd said I thought it could do with something on the inside layer down the sides where you can see through the acetate.
The fir branch and cones stamp I used for yesterday's card, is exactly the kind of thing I had in mind! Yesterday I made a video showing how I made the card and included the extra stamping down the sides! I'm hoping to be able to post it tomorrow so watch this space!
In the meantime, until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
