I hope you had a super weekend. Mine was definitely busy but a lot of fun. Yesterday I went to a product-based craft day organised by my friend and fellow demonstrator Kim Fee, for her customers.
Anyone who goes to card making classes know what great social events they are............and yesterday was no exception.
Unfortunately, I left my bag behind so I can't count them! DOH!
There were at least four cards, a square pillow box, an elongated pillow box and a gift bag.
The only thing I'd change is that I'd layer the cards but the disadvantage of that would be the extra time it'd take and therefore we'd have done less projects.
The project I'm sharing with you today is the 3D project I did at classes on Saturday, a self-closing box.
The first one I made (last photograph) I used retired card stock and retired Designer Series Paper. I often do this when I make my "prototype" just in case it goes wrong. The blow is softened a bit if I've used retired stock. LOL!
For the first box I used Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper and Soft Sky Card Stock. The ribbon for the bow is Pool Party Seam Binding (now retired). An suitable alternative would be 1/4" Cotton Taffeta in Pool Party.
In yesterday's video, Santa's Door Hanger, I said I would try and post a copy of my page where I show all the punched pieces labelled with the punch I used, the Word document for the front message and the Excel document for the letter on the back.
Unfortunately, I've only succeeded in my instruction page which you can download and print off. I will have another attempt at the other two - if I still fail, I'll give up!
That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting,
JanB.
