Hello, Crafters.
I didn't plan to do Christmas in July - it just happened! I decided to do a tree with the bird's wings and my first attempt made me think Christmas.
Unfortunately, yesterday was very busy day so I didn't get as much play-time as I would have liked.
What would I have done if I'd had more time? I would have made the tree a bit shorter and put some gift wrapped parcels round the base of the tree.
The last two photographs show my first attempt but I didn't like how regimental it looked - bit like the candles on card no. 2 yesterday!
For my card I decided to use wings that had been punched from the front and the back of the design I was using which has given my tree a more relaxed look.
I also tipped the photograph upside down to see what that looked like - it made me think of pine cones!
I used Whisper White card stock for the card base and top layer.
I think this card may have benefited for this top layer to have been embossed with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder.
The first layer is Real Red card stock.
I sponged the edges with Garden Green Ink. I'm not sure which punch I used to punch out the small Red Glimmer Paper Stars.
I think it was the Confetti Stars Border Punch.
The large star was punched out using the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set.
The great thing about this stamp set it comes with a sentiment for the front of the card and one for the inside, although you can use them both on the front of your card, as I have done, if you prefer!
The tree trunk is made with Soft Suede card stock, stamped using Soft Suede ink and the Hardwood Background Stamp.
Watch out for card 4 tomorrow.
In the meantime, happy crafting.
