Handmade Birthday Cards Received

Hello, Crafters.

On Sunday, I had the most amazing birthday. I spent time 

with my daughter and her husband in the morning, and Hubby and I had 

dinner with our son and his partner in the evening. We're off to 

Alaska on the 19th. July on the Stampin' Up! 2018 Incentive Trip. 

It's a cruise which is a first for both of us! Apparently, internet

 access can be pretty random, which is something that I've 

been a bit concerned about! But Hubby bought me the best 

birthday present possible i.e. the top grade internet package 

available for the whole week! I'm so excited! 

 Today I'm sharing two of the handmade birthday cards I received on 

Sunday - I always save my birthday cards for the actual day! The first

 one is from my friend Geraldine Homenchuk, who lives in Canada.

 Ever since I've known Geraldine, she has always decorated the inside

 of the cards she sends as well as the envelopes. The stamp set she

 used is a retired set called Peaceful Petals - 133107 - which

 Geraldine very kindly photographed as a reminder for me.

The top layer of her card is our Vellum  Cardstock (CS), and

 the layer under is Watercolour Paper which  has been heat-embossed 

with the stem of leaves stamp.  Then Geraldine sponged over the

 leaves, probably with Old Olive. For the individual flowers, she 

heat-embossed three of them with four individual leaves in Whisper

 White Embossing Powder. She used an Aquapainter and painted

 the flowers in a relaxed style, but I'm not sure which colour she used. 

 The sentiment across the page is from the new "Teeny Tiny Wishes"

 stamp set called Itty Bitty Greetings. Geraldine and I are very

 similar in a lot of ways when it comes to crafting, and she fussy

 cut the flowers an leaves, which I would love to have done!

 

The second card I'm sharing with you was made by my

Faceboook friend Lorraine Turner. It's ironic that she should

 send me this style of card because I was watching YouTube

 last week to see how it's made.

 Lorraine's card is the most straight-forward card Ive seen and

 I will be CASEing it for a video. I don't know what this style of 

card is called, apart from a fancy fold card! The sentiment is 

from the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set, but the roses image

 isn't from a stamp set I own.

 The stitched dies are Stampin' Up! Stitched Shape Framelits Dies, 

and the scalloped circles are from the Layering Circles Framelits 

Dies. I don't recognise the Designer Series Paper or the ribbon.

 I can't show you inside the card because Lorraine has written me

 a lovely letter! Lorraine is a member of my general Facebook 

group where crafters can share their projects, and everyone is 

free to use any brand of products.

Finally, I've found out that Blogger has actually changed the 

Comments option! I have changed two of my settings and you

 can now start leaving comments under my blog each day. The big 

difference you will notice is that your comment will publish straightaway,

 which 99.9% of the time is fine. Unfortunately, there have been 

occasions when people have tried leaving advertisments rather than

 comments. I'm going to let it run like this for a while to see how it 

goes. If at any time you see anything posted that you don't like,
