Hello, Crafters.
(Sorry but I published too soon - the video will be available at 7.00 am GMT tomorrow).
When I shared Lorraine's card on my blog yesterday, I said I'd
probably CASE it some time. Not only have I CASE'd it but I've
also made a video showing how it's made!
Many thanks for the inspiration, Lorraine!
It's an amazingly easy card to make, once you know what you need
to watch out for. I practised by making a couple of cards, and
making mistakes as I went, but also learning all the time.
The only aspect that did beat me whle I was making this card
were the metric measurements. Normally, I'm able to follow
through with metric, checking as I go so I know I'm giving
correct measurements for all the layers and extra parts of the card.
Yesterday, I just wasn't happy that my conversions were correct,
so I haven't given any metric measurements. I'm sorry but not
being very au fait with metric I really wouldn't want to make you
waste lots of cardstock and DSP.
My first proper card before videoing is the Blushing Bride version,
and I used the beautiful Tropical Chic Stamp Set, as well as the
Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper (DSP). I included Granny
Apple Green, and then for the video, I changed the colours
around - I used Granny Apple Green but included Blushing Bride
as well! A brilliant colour combo both ways!
When I was photographing the cards for my blog, it wasn't until I
was taking the very last photograph that I decided I needed to add
some pearls to finish off the flowers. When you look at the
photographs I'm sharing here on my blog, you'll see plain flowers
right until the end! It's amazing how much difference three small
pearls can make to a card LOL!
Yesterday I received an extra present from Hubby for my birthday!
It's a North Face hooded jacket with a detachable fleecy lining.
Not only is it a fabulous design, and a fabulous fit, but it's also a
fabulous colour! It's Berry Burst and it's absolutely gorgeous.
I'll try and remember to share a photograph from Alaska
when I'm wearing it!☺
That's about it from me today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting! ☺

DeleteI am very honoured Jan that you felt the urge to CASE the card I sent to you for your birthday. I CASEd the card from a SU demonstrator in the USA called Kelly Acheson 'A Stamp Above'. She has done a video tutorial so you could check that out to see if she has worked out the metric measurement too. Again, thank you Jan for wanting to CASE one of my card designs; this definitely is a huge confidence booster. :O)
ReplyDeleteHi, Lorraine. I can't tell you how thrilled I was to receive your card. I loved everything about it. You really do make beautiful cards! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB. xx
