Yay You

Hello, Crafters.

My replacement Doilies arrived with my order on Wednesday, and when I went to put them away in the box, there wasn't a bag in there for them. 

This suggests that I've "misplaced" my bag of Doilies rather than having run out of them.  

Although this sounds a far more logical explanation - how could I allow myself to run out of Doilies?? - but I can't find them anywhere! 

No doubt they'll turn up one day, but in the meantime I have replacements!

In my Wednesday delivery, I also had the Hostess Yay You Stamp Set, which is the stamp set I decided to play with for today's card. 

I'm still trying to stay away from pink and blue, so I chose to work with Calypso Coral - a decision made easy because I love this Designer Series Paper (DSP)! 

It's from the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP and is more like cardstock than paper! 

In comparison to the Calypso Coral Cardstock (CS) the DSP is what I call a "milky" colour i.e if the cardstock colour was a tin of paint, if you added white paint and mixed it, the colour would be more like the DSP, hence milky! ☺

I layered the DSP on to some Whisper White CS, and then onto a Calypso Coral CS card base. 

I also adhered a layer of Whisper White CS inside the card.

For the image, I took a piece of Whisper White CS and drew around the inside of the third size circle die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, using a pencil - this will be my guide!. 

Using Versamark, I stamped the branch images on the bottom half of the circle, and then stamped the sentiment level with the top of the half-wreath!

Still working with Versamark, I stamped three sets of hearts starting from the right hand side. 

By the time I reached the third set, I was running out of space. 

I took a scrap of paper and put it under the third heart so that the image stamped onto the scrap and not my circle.

I covered the stamped images with Basic Black Embossing Powder (now retired), and used my Heat Tool to set it.

Next, using my Old Olive and Calypso Coral Marker Pens, I coloured the berries, leaves and hearts. 

I die cut the image circle, and then die cut a scalloped Calypso Coral CS circle from the Layering Circle Framelits Dies, and adhered it under the image (a bit wonky to say the least!) 

I adhered the Doily with some Tombow to the front of the card, and then adhered the image using dimensionals. 

My final touch was to add a bow I'd tied using some Calypso Coral Glimmer Ribbon, which was in a pack of three Glimmer Ribbons available as a SAB gift!

My final step was to stamp and paint the stem with leaves and berries image on the Whisper White CS inside the card base. 

I'm really surprised how much I  like this colour, given that it's orange - my least favourite colour! LOL!
