Hello, Crafters.
I
haven't seen many projects that have used this stamp set, and I have to
confess this is my first play with it.
It was the barrow of flowers that first
attracted me to this set, and when I decided to use it for today's card,
I just went for it without looking at the other stamps in set!
This
only happened when I started thinking about a sentiment for my card.
I
hadn't noticed the individual small bird with the heart stamp, which matches the bird on the
awning of the flower barrow.
The stamp set also includes a small flower with some leaves, but
the one I really like is the decorative stamp which is rather like a
climbing interwined flower.
I'm sure that can be used to create
something lovely!
I
decided to make today's card in the stained glass style, so I stamped
the flower barrow on a piece of our Vellum CS.
I used Marker Pens
to colour the image as follows:-
Bird - Soft Suede
Heart - Real Red
Awning and barrow - Perfect Plum
Flowers - Crushed Curry
Leaves - Pear Pizzazz
Ground - Crumb Cake
I
used Whisper White CS for the top layer, and die cut an oval
window using the second to largest straight cut oval from the Layering
Ovals Framelits Dies.
Using die numbers 7 and 8, I die cut a narrow
frame in Perfect Plum CS to frame the window.
Next I dry embossed the
window layer using the Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder.
At the
moment you can only get this folder as a free gift during Sale-a-bration
(SAB) for a qualifying order!
If you miss this opportunity, you will be
able to buy one when the new Annual Catalogue is launched on 1st June
2018.
It's very unusual for Stampin' Up! to bring a SAB gift forward
into a main catalogue but I'm so pleased they are with this product.
It looks absolutely stunning in real life!
I
lined up my image where I thought it looked best through the window,
and from the back, drew a pencil line to show where I could cut parts of
the Vellum CS off.
Next I adhered the Vellum CS onto my window layer, and
then I attached it to another layer of Whisper White CS which was
about 1/8" shorter all round than the window layer.
Then I attached this to a layer of
Perfect Plum CS, and then on to a Whisper White CS card base.
I tied two small
bows using our beautiful 1/4" Whisper White Organza Ribbon, and adhered
them on either side of the window.
To finish the front, I adhered
one small Basic Pearl in the centre of each flower, one either end
of the sentiment, and one medium sized Basic Pearl in the centre of the
wheel!
The sentiment is from the You're Inspiring Stamp Set.
Inside the
card, I added a layer of Perfect Plum CS, and a layer of Whisper White
CS, onto which I stamped the bird and heart image I mentioned earlier.
I
coloured it the same way I did the bird on the awning on the front of the card.
This type of flower barrow makes me think very much of Paris - does it you?
Today's
one of my favourite days of the month, that is, the day I get my
customers' happy mail packaged up and in the post! ☺
That's about it from
me today. I hope you've enjoyed today's project, and until tomorrow,
happy crafting.
JanB.
BEAUTIFULLY done, Jan! Just so fresh and lovely. You've put a lot of thought and effort into this card and it shows! Love it! Love your colour choices too ... it's perfect! 😊

DeleteI haven't got this set Jan, but I would be interested in seeing it on a video tutorial just to see the stained glass style technique demonstrated. Thank you :O)
ReplyDeleteHi, Lorraine. I demonstrate how to do the stained glass technique in video no.367. Give it a try, it's a great technique! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
