Side Stepper Card Video

Hello, Crafters.

Today is Mothering Sunday here in the UK, and it's the first one for me without my Mum!

I send my very best wishes to all Mum's everywhere, and I hope you're made to feel the special person you are, not just today, but always. xx

Today's video is the fifth fancy fold card I promised, and is called a side stepper, or side step card.

When I designed the embellishments for this card, I didn't realise how many pieces of cardstock, and Designer Series Paper (DSP) I needed.

I ended up getting so confused that I had to adhere small Post It Notes to all the pieces to prevent me making a mistake! LOL!

I still managed to make a mistake, although it wasn't because I was confused - it was down to a lack of concentration!

I put Tombow on the wrong side of one the DSP die cuts!! Grrr!!

Rather than stop and correct it there and then, I said I'd correct it after the video, and post a photograph on here today - which is what I've done!

The card I made in the video is the Flirty Flamingo card, and in the photographs here everything is correct.

The piece that was wrong is the Basic Black Oval die cut on the right hand side under the sentiment.

In the video you'll see what it looks like with that oval die cut in the pink flowery design from the Pick a Pattern DSP!

I hope you like this card, and make one yourself.

It's very easy, but you may want to change the embellishments so you don't have as many pieces of cardstock and DSP as I did!

I wish you all a very happy Sunday, and God bless.

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.

  3. A very special card indeed. I love the beautiful color choices, but it's the way you put all the elements together that makes it so pretty.

  5. Oh my goodness! I just cannot imagine what a thrill it would be to open one's mail and find such an exquisite card enclosed! This is just SUCH a beautiful card, Jan! And as always, your choice of card stock, DSP and colours for each project you've shown are wonderful! Thanks so much for another super video and I apologize for being a day late, also in wishing you a belated "Happy Mother's Day!" ... bless you! Hugs ~
