Colour Me Happy

Hello, Crafters.

I hope you all enjoyed the weekend.

Yesterday, one of my customers asked if it's still possible to order the Colour Me Happy Stamp Set.

Although I recognised the name, I just couldn't place it, until I picked it off my shelf!

As soon as I saw the images on the front of the box, I remembered it was the stamp set that went with a kit that was released when the Stampin' Blends first became available.

I bought the kit and the stamp set and loved them both, so I made up my mind to use the two birds in the stamp set for today's card, or not!! LOL!

Although I did use the stamp set, I only managed to get as far as the flower; maybe I'll get to the birds today! I love white heat-embossing on Crumb Cake Cardstock (CS), and I created seven of the flowers which I fussy cut!

Why did I do seven? That's how many I could get on the scrap of paper I picked out of the Crumb Cake CS scrap wallet, and in case one or more didn't emboss very nicely!

My plan was to make my card tone-on-tone, but then I wondered if I could use Crumb Cake CS with a colour.

I was pleasantly surprised at how many different colours I could choose from, and settled on Pink Pirouette CS.

I spent a little while playing with the seven flowers in different arrangements, which included three in the top right-hand corner and one in the bottom left-hand corner.

I thought this looked lovely, and decided I would need a large sentiment to fill the space in between.

As I was abut to get my Stamp Reference File out to look for one, the flowers had almost formed a wreath.

Although it was overlarge, and very mishappen, it looked good -I was confident I could do something with it, and I did!

Then I started to think about a sentiment, and found this HAPPY BIRTHDAY and the banner in the In the Trees Stamp Set.

I stamped the banner using Versamark first, and then stamped the sentiment inside it.

It took me five attempts to get the sentiment straight. LOL!

After I had dipped the images in White Embossing Powder, I used my Heat Tool to set the image, which I found was very easy to fussy cut.

I used the fabulous Sale-a-bration Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder for the top Pink Pirouette CS layer and adhered it to a Whisper White CS layer.

Next I adhered the flowers on Dimensionals.

I used double layer Mini Dimensionals just in the centre of the sentiment that was going in-between the flowers; I have left the two ends "floating".

I decided I'd wrap some Crumb Cake Ribbon around the front of the card, and tied it in a bow, which finished off my card beautifully...........except for the pearls of course!

Then I added this to the Pink Pirouette CS card base, and a layer of Whisper White CS inside the card.

I adhered the seventh flower in the bottom right-hand corner.

Maybe today, I'll experiment with the same stamp set, but tone-on-tone! Watch this space! ☺

That's it from me today, so until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
