Magical Day Dragon Card

Hello, Crafters.

Yesterday evening we went over to Vicki's for a takeaway as it was Molly's 14th birthday on Wednesday - this has become a bit of a traditional over the years! 

As it was the first day of the month, I prepared everything so I could ask Molly if she'd pick the winners for last month's Prize Draws!

I'm really pleased to announce the winner of the customer's Prize Draw is Dawn Gould. Congratulations, Dawn! ☺ 

The prize that will soon be winging it's way to Dawn is a set of the Large Letters Framelits Dies and Letters for You Stamp Set.

I also asked Molly to draw the winner for the second part of the Prize Draw, which was open to everybody who couldn't shop with me, because Stampin' Up! rules don't allow cross-border sales.

All they had to do was to leave a message on my blog.

The prize for this draw is a box of my handmade cards plus a surprise of something that's very English!

The photographs show Molly picking the winning tickets, and Vicki holding the bowl, just about! 

Molly is having her hair cut for charity, and all the sponsor money she receives, she's giving to her teacher who's running in the London marathon in April. 

Molly's teacher is raising money for a charity which provides holidays for disabled children, whose parents can't afford holidays. 

So far Molly has raised £300!
 
The card I'm sharing today is another swap from Team Training recently. 

The dragon is a complete card and has been made exquisitely - it's faultless!
 
It was made by Sue Hookins from  www.suehookins.wordpress.com 

The card base is Whisper White Cardstock (CS), with a layer of Old Olive CS, then Pumpkin Pie CS, and the dragon has been stamped on a layer of Shimmery White CS!
 
I think one of the first things that makes Sue's card stand out is that she has left a wider than normal gap between the Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie layers.  

Interestingly, Sue stamped the dragon, which is from the Magical Day Stamp Set, using Basic Black Archival Ink. 

We are advised to use Memento Ink when we're using Stampin' Blends, but this is the second time I've seen our Basic Black Archival ink being used successfully! 

Sue has used Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Smokey Slate Blends to colour the dragon,  as well as grounding him. 

For the sentiment, which is from the same stamp set, Sue stamped it in Old Olive Ink on a piece of Whisper White CS, and then die cut it using an oval die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies!

This was then adhered to a larger straight die cut oval made from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies.

A truly beautiful card - I wish I could say I'd made it!
