You Move Me Butterflies

Hello, Crafters.

Paula Gorry, our Business Manager for the UK, organised a Birthday Wishes Challenge to celebrate the tenth Stampin' Up! anniversary in the UK.

The challenge was for demos to organise events to make 10,000 greeting cards that could be donated to the Ronald McDonald Charity.

The challenge was planned for last weekend and the first weekend in December.

The total number of cards made last weekend totalled a whopping 9493!

What happens now for the December weekend hasn't been announced - maybe we should be challenged to 20,000 cards for that weekend!

Yesterday I finished the twenty six 3D swaps I've made for the Incentive Trip to Thailand next weekend.

Now I need to make twenty six cards!

This is totally voluntary and I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't have said yes I'll join in..............but you know how I love swapping!

I used the Daisy Delight Stamp Set and Daisy Punch for my 3D swaps, and I'm so in love with these 3D flowers, especially when they've been stamped first.

When I make these daisies, I always stamp them in my chosen colour, but sometimes on Whisper White Cardstock (CS), and sometimes using the same colour CS as the ink i.e. tone on tone.

For the centre of the flower, I always use the opposite CS to the one used for the petals.

That is, if I've stamped the flowers on Whisper White CS, I stamp the centre on the co-ordinating coloured CS, and vice versa.

I was very sorry when I heard that the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and the co-ordinating punches were retiring on 31st May 2017.

I often decorated my flowers with the smaller butterfly.

Yesterday I was chatting with one of the young ladies in my team, Maire, and she mentioned the You Move Me Stamp Set.

As Maire was speaking, I was looking at the stamp set in the catalogue, and I saw there was a two-step stamping butterfly in the set, and there's a co-ordinating die in the Move Me Thinlits Dies.

This is where the butterflies on today's card are from, and they have antennae!!

I started my card with a Flirty Flamingo CS base, a layer of Whisper White CS and a top layer of Flirty Flamingo.

I dry embossed this top layer using the stunning Ruffled Dynamic Embossing Folder.

I stamped, punched and assembled my daisy, and then made three leaves from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set, using Emerald Envy Ink.

Then I fussy cut the leaves, and adhered them to the daisy.

The sentiment is from the Better Together Stamp Set, and I stamped it using Flirty Flamingo Ink onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.

I die cut it using the Stitched Shapes Framelits, oval die no. 3.

I layered it onto a Flirty Flamingo Scalloped Oval I'd die cut with the Layering Oval Framelits, scallop die no. 7.

I adhered a layer of Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper on a layer of Whisper White CS across the front of the card.

I glued the daisy on the card front, and attached the sentiment with Dimensionals.

To finish my card, I adhered a layer of Whisper White CS inside the card, and stamped the daisy in the bottom right hand corner.

I added another butterfly to give the flower a little bit of colour!

My plan for today is to make two videos..........find out tomorrow if I achieved it!

I hope you have a great weekend. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
