Today's video is week four of five weeks of fancy fold cards.
I decided to make this as a 6" x 6" card, and have also included instructions how to make an envelope for the card.
With the folds and the layers, this is quite a bulky card and has a really super weight to it.
Using the Envelope Punch Board, makes making envelopes a walk in the park!
If you've never thought about buying an Envelope Punch Board, I really recommend you do.
They really come into their own when you make a non-standard size so you never have to worry about an envelope that will fit, but they have the bonus of being used to make boxes, too.
The two stamps sets I used are Big on Birthdays and Layering Love - both brought forward from last year.
I ran out of cardstock for the layer I needed for the back of the card, so I used Calypso Coral.
I really don't think anyone would notice!
Secondly, if the DSP is a pale colour, like the Powder Pink, greetings can be written directly onto that.
Thirdly, if the DSP is a busy design or a dark colour, a shaped die cut of Whisper White Cardstock could be adhered to the DSP.
For the first card, I stamped randomly over the area that would remain exposed with a flower stamp.
For the second card, I stamped the same stamp I used on the front of the card, but I didn't colour it.
I have enough die cuts, layers, stamped images, etc. left over from the card I made in the video to make another card.
That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

ReplyDeleteHi, Lindsey. I'm so pleased you're going to make one of these for Greg. Very special card for a very special man! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
DeleteOh my! What a beautiful and extravagant card is this! I've never seen anything quite like it! You have done a stellar job of it too ... and I particularly appreciated your reinforcing the card back for greater stability, especially given all that was happening on the front and inside of the card, it appears to an excellent choice. I can't imagine how being of the receiving end of such a card might be ... definitely a prize winner. Thank you again Jan, for an impressive tutorial ... such care and attention to all the details!
ReplyDeleteHi, Geraldine. You've chosen a very good word in extravagant; you're right, it is somewhat! But for the special people in one's life, absolutely ideal! So very pleased you like today's project. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
