Our dear friend Liz

Hello, Crafters.

Our very dear friend Liz passed away peacefully just before midnight last night. Othman and I both feel very relieved that she isn't suffering anymore but so sad she's no longer with us. She was like a surrogate Mum to us both.

She fought a long and valiant battle with cancer, confounding her doctors who were convinced she wouldn't make it through February last year! She led a good life, always putting others first; her life story would make an excellent book.

I'm going to spend the day in my studio and will be back tomorrow. Happy crafting.

JanB.

  1. Ah, so very sorry for your loss. It's not at all unnatural to feel both relief and loss at the same time, when someone you have loved has passed. Comforting thoughts for you both just now as you grieve and remember your times of togetherness. God bless.

  14. Dear Jan,
The sting of death is always hard to deal with, because we were never created to die. Thankfully, there is comfort and hope in the Scriptures at John 5:28, 29, which tells us there is going to be a resurrection. This is no idle promise, but a solid guarantee from God himself. Take time to grieve the loss of your friend. Cry all you want to. Sometimes, it might even help to write down how you're feeling. Most of all, talk to God earnestly in prayer. Not only will He hear you, but He'll also give you the comfort & strength needed to get through this difficult time. (Psalms 34:18) Sending you "virtual" hugs & love.
