Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday
I was working on my video for tomorrow showing how I made the inchies card I shared
last Thursday.
I started by making another card the same to give me an idea of the time it would take.
Although I changed the stamp set, the card was more or less the same,
including the size, I didn't think it was very feasible for a video.
I decided if I made the card smaller, it would work!
The
first card I made was the lady from the You've Got Style Stamp Set -
such a brilliant set!
I followed the same basic design as the larger
cards but there was something lacking.
Smaller made the card look very bland!
I decided
to try a different image but also to introduce some Designer Series
Paper (DSP). Kapow!
The
image I changed to was flowers from the Touches of Texture Stamp Set.
Using Sahara
Sand Ink stamped off once, I stamped a background for the flowers, using the large background stamp from the You've
Got This Stamp Set.
Then I
coloured the image using Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party Marker Pens.
The card still needed something, so I stamped a bee from the Touches of Texture Stamp
Set using Basic Black Archival Ink.
I used a piece of Whisper White
Cardstock, and after I'd fussy cut the bee, I added it to the image.
With the benefit of hindsight, I should have popped the bee up with a mini Dimensional.
I
completed the bee by painting his body using a Daffodil Delight Marker Pen, and then his wings and body with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter
Pen.
I
went back to first card to see if I could improve on it without
dismantling any of it!
The only idea I came up with was to add the cat!
Using
Basic Black Archival Ink, I stamped the cat from the same stamp set onto a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock.
Not
surprisingly, I amended her eyes and made her look really cute! LOL!
I
coloured the first cat I stamped using my Smokey Slate Marker Pen, as
well as Powder Pink Marker Pen foe her collar, nose and inside her ears.
After I'd finished fussy cutting the cat, I decided the grey was too
dark!
I stamped another cat, and coloured the body using my Basic Grey
Watercolour Pencil very gently.
I went over it with a Blender Pen, and then
coloured the Powder Pink pieces.
When I'd finished fussy cutting the
cat, I adhered her to the image using Dimensional.
I'm now happy what elements I need to pull together to make a great card - hopefully!!
The
sentiment on the ribbons is from the Big On Birthdays Stamp Set, and I
used Stazon Ink.
The pink ribbon is Powder Pink 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon
and the blue ribbon is Pool Party 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon.
Finally,
yesterday I found my box of inchies - bought but never used!
In the
photograph, I've included a bottle of Tombow which will give an idea of
size!
The four sizes are 1" x 1"; 1.5" x 1.5"; 2" x 2"; 1" x 2" and the depth is 3/16".
I think that's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

This is a little late for the comment but I want to thank you for all the new pictures of your travels. It looks like you live in an interesting area. I would love to visit that area some day. I do say the California is a great state and we have a lot here but something new would be a great treat.
ReplyDeleteHi, Nanci. Yes, I understand what you mean! I love travelling and visiting new places but it's always nice to come home! ☺ happy crafting. JanB.

ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Amy. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
DeleteWhat are inchies Jan?
ReplyDeleteHi, Crazy Dazy. Inchies were very popular a few years ago. They were squares of chipboard/hardboard that were white on one side that could be stamped on. The idea was to put them together - maybe 2 squares x 3 squares, or say 3 x 4 - then they're adhered to the card base leavig equi-distance gaps between all of them. Although it was popular at the time, it didn't really take off. ☺ I'm pleased to enter your name in my special January 2018 prize draw. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jan. Actually, my name is Angie. This handle was already there and I didn't know how to change it, so it stuck. It fits anyway, my friends and family think I am! LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL!! It's a great name, Angie!
