Inchies - Final Design & Video

Hello, Crafters.

I finally came up with a design for my small inchies card that I was able to use for today's video!

For those of you who don't like fussy cutting, I explained how you could include the cat by stamping her with the lady, rather than as a separate image.

In the video I also show how to stamp on ribbon, using Stazon, which, unfortunately, we don't sell anymore!

The technique also works with our Basic Black Archival Ink, but I found it bled.

When I was looking into stamping on ribbon, Stazon was the recommended Ink, but I do wonder if my Archival Ink Pad is more juicy than my Stazon pad.

I can only recommend that you experiment.

During the video I also show samples of four different ribbons I'd experimented on!

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) I used for the video is the Bundle of Love Specialty DSP.

It comes in Blushing Bride, Soft Sky, and Very Vanilla.

There are three different designs, and each design is the same on the reverse of the 12" x 12" sheet but in Gold Foil!

It's stunning!

I felt a bit guilty using it as a layer for a card because it doesn't show the beauty of the gold side!

I'm one of those crafters who doesn't like cutting into beautiful designs! LOL!

I am working hard on changing this!

What an awful scare I had yesterday afternoon!

I was in the house alone, getting ready to make a video, when I heard someone moving downstairs!

I started creeping downstairs asking myself if I asked the cleaner to come in early this week??

Or maybe hubby had come home eary and I hadn't heard hime come in??

The noise was obviously coming from the sitting room, and it sounded like whoever was in there was having a really good rummage!

With my heart in my mouth, I peered into the room and saw a big mess on the floor!

Another step forward and I saw a large raven flapping against the window trying to get out!

It was obviously a baby and had fallen down the chimney, hence the mess on the floor!

I opened both windows, and with a cushion between me and the bird, I ushered him towards one of the open windows.

As soon as the fresh air hit his nostrils, he was out of the window and flew off.

I'm not sure who was more scared!

We have three Merano glass starfish sitting on the hearth, and very fortunately hadn't been damaged by our uninvited guest.

When hubby moved the starfish to clean the hearth, you could see exactly how much dust had come down the chimney with the bird!

That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting!

  1. Really a cute card and so brave of you to take this on, on video, but you did brilliantly, I must say. I love the larger blue floral version of this card ... gorgeous! Thanks for sharing as always, and for including the advice on stamping the ribbon too!!

  2. Love this card and loved your story! You were brave to go down and see what was going on. Glad it was just a bird and you were able to get him out. Take care. Sheron

    1. Hi, Sheron. Fortunately, the front door is quite close to the sitting room, and if I'd seen a person, I would have legged it! LOL! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
