Double Banner Fox

Hello, Crafters.

Yesterday I made tomorrow's video, so far unnamed, but it's the card I shared on Monday this week.

It showed the little girl from the Birthday Memories Suite and two dogs, one either side of her. 

Both of the dogs hoping to receive a share of the cake she's clutching tightly to her body! 

Do you find yourself making up stories when playing with whimsical sets like this?

When I was making the card before I started recording, I decorated the layer for inside as if it was for a portrait style card, not a landscape style! DOH!

I put the insert to one side and made a landscape insert and finished my card. 

Once the video was recorded, I started on today's card and decided to use the portrait insert.

It wasn't until I'd finished my card that I thought that the insert had very little connection with the design on the front of the card. 

I decided to leave it because it's a child's card, and they won't question what connection the two images have!

I started today's card with a base of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) and a layer of Dapper Denim CS. 

When I shared the various elements of the Birthday Memories Suite last Saturday, I showed the die cut images I'd made. 

This included the fox with the banner that I had die cut from the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper (DSP). 

I'd die cut it from the sheet that's one complete picture of all the characters walking over a hill. 

Rather than waste the hill, I cut around the top, following the curve of the hill, so I achieved a solid green edge.

I cut the complete hill so I'd have enough hill to do two more portrait cards, or one landscape card. 

For the top half of my card, I wanted a lighter colour DSP, and found this spotty design in the Petal Garden DSP Stack. 

I die cut the fox and two banners, then stamped each banner with a sentiment from the Birthday Delivery Stamp Set. 

To join the two poles together, I carefully cut off the ball from the top of one them, and adhered them together using Tombow. 

I wanted the main sentiment on my card to read HAPPY BIRTHDAY but the one in this stamp set is too big.

I chose the sentiment from Big On Birthdays Stamp Set, which is a bit on the small side for my design, but it works.

To finish off my card, I adhered the "mistake" I told you about earlier, with the dog and the balloon.

Overall a very pleasing card which I think any child would be delighted to receive!

Yesterday, the insurance inspector came to look at our carpet and he decided the carpet in our bedroom, on the landing, the stairs and the hallway all needs to be replaced. 

I was so disappointed that he said there wasn't anything that would get our carpet back the way it was! 

All that upheaval of having carpets replaced!

What makes it worse is that I'm going to have the other two bedrooms, the sitting room and the dining room done at the same time! 

I really don't want to have two rooms with nice raised pile and flat pile in the other rooms! 

Maybe we can have the house done in two stages! 

Tomorrow we're off to speak to someone at our local carpet showroom!
