Ribbon Box Video

Hello, Crafters.

Today, I uploaded my video showing how to make this Ribbon Box. 

It was inspired by a swap I receieved when I was in Telford, about eighteen months ago I think! 

I know it's quite sometime as I the swap has been sitting in my studio ever since, waiting for me to make a video! 

The swap was given to me by Shellee Clee aka Handycrafter. Many thanks, Shellee, it's a brilliant idea!

It was quite a challenge to work out the exact measurements required to make the box function smoothly! 

But I persevered - it only took four attemps! LOL! - and I've finished up with a great project! 

You may be looking at this thinking "a box for just six spools of ribbon - nowhere near enough", but this boxes will sit next to each other in a line as long as the ends haven't been too heavily embellished.

The boxes will also sit on top of each other, and could be held in place with some BlueTack.
 
Whatever you choose to use must be a temporary fix as it will be sitting on the opening part of the box below it! 

I'll be using one for the six ribbons I use most frequently.

In my video, I show you the easy way of making sure the box adheres together at the correct angle, as well as where to punch the holes.

The size of the holes isn't particularly critical. 

The four boxes in the photogarphs have holes of varying sizes i.e. 3/16" Mint Macaroon and Delightful Dijon, 3/8"  Cucumber Crush and 1/2" Tip Top Taupe. 

I used my Crop-a-dile for the 3/16"; a retired 3/8" SU Circle Punch; and a current SU 1/2" Circle Punch respectively.

I wouldn't go anything larger or smaller than the sizes I've used, but it really repends on what tools you have!

I hope you like this project and give it a go - it really is quite easy with the measurements I've worked out!
