Beautiful You Through the Window

Hello, Crafters.

I'm really pleased to be able to report that yesterday I successfully stamped sixty wedding invitations using a replacement stamp!

And oh boy! what a difference that stamp made!

It wasn't messy and it produced good clean images time after time after time!

If only I had started with that stamp at the beginning, I'd be at the stage of fixing the inserts.

The benefit of hindsight!

Today's card is another Beautiful You idea and uses the Hearth & Home Thinlits.

I saw a glimpse of this idea when it could be seen behind another project that was being featured on a Facebook Page for Stampin' Up! demos.

What I could see of the idea, it looked as if the image had been stamped directly onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (CS).

I wanted to have something in the background that looked like wallpaper, so I stamped the image using our Archival Basic Black Ink onto a piece of Smokey Slate CS, and then stamped it again on a Post It note.

I cut this one out and used it as a mask,  so I was able to stamp the square design stamp which is from the Timeless Textures Stamp Set.

I stamped it third generation using Smokey Slate Ink.

Unfortunately, I think it looks more like railings rather than an indoor background, but never mind, I'm happy because it's not a plain background!

I stamped the image again on a piece of the stripe design from the Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack.

Before fussy cutting it, I very gently coloured over the white stripes using the Basic Grey Watercolour Pencil.

I left the colouring as it was i.e. I didn't go over it with a Blender Pen or an AquaPainter.

I used the Calypso Coral pencil to colour the flesh areas.

I die cut the window using Basic Grey CS and adhered it over the image.

I used a card base in Basic Grey CS, then a layer of Whisper White CS and a top layer of a relatively plain pattern in Blushing Bride colour from the Blooms & Bliss DSP.

I adhered the three together using Tombow and adhered the window on top.

Using Smokey Slate CS and Blushing Bride CS, I die cut two flowers from the Botanical Builder Framelits and adhered the pink onto the grey.

I took a strip of Smokey Slate CS, and stamped the Thank You sentiment, which is from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set, using Basic Grey Archival Ink.

I fishtailed the end using the Triple Banner Punch.

I adhered this to the card front and then adhered the flower on top of the left hand side.

Inside the card I adhered a layer of Blushing Bride CS, and then a layer of Whisper White CS.

I had already stamped the image using Archival Basic Black Ink on Whisper White CS, and decorated it in the same way as I did for the front of the card.

That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

    1. Hi, Ina. Although the background wasn't quite what I'd planned, it's better than leaving it plain! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB
