What a super successful day I had yesterday, even though I didn't get into my studio until after dinner!
I finally prepared the flyers I want for the Make It Show next weekend as Word documents.
I telephoned Vistaprint and had one of their designers create flyers to match my business cards, postcards and return labels, all of which are from Vistaprint.
Because I've left it so close to the show, I've paid extra to have the express delivery!
I'd be so disappointed if, after having finally gotten round to organising them, to miss out because they didn't arrive in time! Can you imagine? LOL!!
While I was tidying up just before dinner, I received an email from Kimberley, who's a demo friend of mine in the US.
She sent me a photograph of a card she'd made using the Beautiful You Stamp Set, which had included two flowers in the embellishments that she'd made by hand. The whole card was stunning! See the last photograph.
Kimberley had also made a box envelope for the card and included that in the photograph, too!
I noticed Kimberley had used the artsy scribbling stamp for the dress and the hat.
I was going to call it the paint splodge stamp but I prefer the name Kimberley has given it! LOL!
I started my card with a base of Shimmery White Cardstock (CS), with a layer of Soft Sky CS and a top layer of Shimmery White CS.
Using Archival Basic Black Ink, I stamped the corners using a stamp from the Helping Me Grow Stamp Set.
If you don't have this stamp set, have a close look at the corner lines - I'm sure it can't be too difficult to do this freehand with a Project life journalling pen, because the lines are broken and slightly wavy!
Then I carried on with the black ink and stamped the image approximately two thirds the way up the page.
I squeezed some Soft Sky Ink into the ink pad lid and painted the inside of the letters using a Blender Pen.
To colour the dress I used the artsy scribble stamp and Soft Sky Ink.
I fussy cut them making sure I didn't leave any white visible. I also wanted them as small as possible!
I used the Real Red Marker Pen to apply the lipstick, and successfully smudged it pretty badly!!
I painted the flowers using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen and adhered them randomly on the front of the card.
I added a tiny Basic Pearl in the centre of each flower, then I adhered the three card layers together using Tombow.
On the Shimmery White CS that was going to be the top layer for the inside of the card, I stamped about two thirds of the image in the bottom right-hand corner and coloured it in the same manner as I did on the front image.
My plans for today are, after I've videoed Sunday's project, I shall be making the second batch of covered note books, which are my February thank you gifts for my online customers.
So I'm going to be in my studio most of the day! YAY!!
Until tomorrow, happy crafting!
JanB.
As always a beautiful card and some great tips.
