Yesterday's visit to the Hobbycraft Show at the NEC (National Exhibition Centre) in Birmingham was surprising short but very sweet!
As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, they're aren't many cardmaking products I buy that aren't SU. My shopping yesterday included googly eyes, 3" x 3" & 4" x 4" cellophane bags, small and extra small Ziploc-type plastic bags, and a file for storing my dies.
Then we visited the Artists' Show which was next door. We found some super watercolour inks, sable paintbrushes and two water colour pads which I bought for hubby's birthday, which is today. Then we visited the Christmas Show and finally the Cake Show.
We made it back to the hotel in time to meet Audrey, who's in my team. She had travelled down from Scotland, with her first train at 5.30 am and her fifth and final train arriving in Telford at 4 pm.
Yesterday evening I took the three of us for dinner to celebrate hubby's birthday, which was also a great opportunity for Audrey and I to get to know each other properly. It was a fabulous day from start to finish.
Photographs 1 - 2: the bull dog and poppy display in the entrance to the Hobbycraft Show was made by Craft of Hearts - details in the second photograph
Photograph 4: I just had to photograph the pink flamingo to share! Another amazing cake which is balanced on one leg!
Photograph 6: This Westie dog is also absolutely amazing. The hair is brilliant.
Photograph 8: This is an egg timer, another cake that I think is masterpiece in engineering.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing these cakes. Personally, I can't bake a cake, let alone decorate one, so I have great admiration for people who can.
Have a great weekend. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
