Seasonal Bells CASE

Hello, Crafters. 
 

This is the card I should have shared with you yesterday.

It was inspired by two swaps I received at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Convention in Telford last weekend.

I started my card with a base of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock (CS) and a layer of Whisper White CS, which I adhered together using Tombow.

 

The top layer is also Cherry Cobbler CS and I dry embossed it using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.

I very patiently painted over all the snow “bumps” with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen.

On Sunday, when I made this card, I was unsure about using a real Doily because I was unsure about how the sentiment looked!

I decided to make my own "doily" although when I published the photographs of my stamped doilies yesterday, I thought I should have used them!

I used the large medallion stamp in the Frosted Medallions Stamp Set and stamped it onto Whisper White CS using Sahara Sand Ink.

Before I did this, I had tested it on a scrap of white paper to make sure it didn’t come out too dark – it came out really light which is exactly what I was after!

To die cut the image I used the largest scallop die in the Layering Circles Framelits Die which was an ideal size for this project.

Using Cherry Cobbler Ink, I stamped the sentiment from the Seasonal Bells Stamp set on the lower curve of my doily.

Then I used our Archival Basic Black ink to stamp four bells from the same stamp set, two on Old Olive CS and two on Cherry Cobbler CS.

I punched the green ones out using the Bell Punch and cut the two centres out of the red one and paper pieced them onto the green bells. 

When I normally paper piece these bells, I cut the two striped sections but I thought I’d do something different this time!

I like the two ways of doing this equally! 

Using our Basic Black Archival Ink, I stamped the bow from the Holly Berry Happiness Stamp Set onto Old Olive CS and punched it out using the Holly Berry Builder Punch.

Then I used my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen and painted the two bells and the bow.

 

To punch 3/16” holes in the top of my bells, I used my Crop-a-dile.

Then I lined them into position on my doily and punched a hole in that as well.

I threaded a length of our 3/8” Satin Taffeta Cherry Cobbler Ribbon through the bells and doily.

Then I put Dimensionals on the back of the doily and adhered it to the centre of the card front.

I used Glue Dots to adhere the bells in position and Dimensionals for the Bow.

The ribbon was adhered to the back of the card front with Fast Fuse.

 

Then I applied Tombow to the back of the top layer 

making sure I put some on top of the ribbon as extra security!

I’m pleased with my finished card, but I think it would have worked well with a real doily, too. Any opinions?
