Rebecca's Tissue Box

Hello, Crafters. 

I hope you had a great weekend.

On Saturday, we were driving to Hayes Village Hall, for the Gingham Goose Craft Fair, when something fell onto my lap from the back of our very well packed car!
 
I think the only thing we don't take with us is the kitchen sink! LOL!

I was horrified to see it was this gorgeous team swap I'd received from Rebecca Wilmore at the Onstage Convention last weekend.

I'd kept it with me in the car on the way home from Telford to make sure it didn't get damaged.

I didn't realise that when hubby unloaded the car on our arrival home, he'd left this in the car................until it fell on my lap on Saturday!

I felt gutted because it meant I'd missed it out of my swaps video last Wednesday!

As you can see from the photographs, it's stunning!

The stamp set Rebecca used is called Totally Trees, and is a set I don't have but I may have to get it now!

I love the design, the layout, the colours, absolutely everything about this project.

I'm not going to have time to show you the card I made for today but I want to show you what led up to my design!

It was a combination of two different swaps from Telford - please see photographs 4 - 5.

Photograph 4 - this swap was made by Pat Ayton-Stewart.

For my card, I resisted the temptation to use the fabulous Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder for my background but chose Softly Falling instead.

I love how Pat used the sentiment from the Seasonal Bells Stamp set, which is  my most used Christmas stamp set this year!

Photograph 5 - I love the way Denise Shepherd has stamped her sentiment onto the doily for her swap, and I wanted to include that on my card for today, but it just didn't work out!

I did a practice run of stamping the sentiment onto a couple of doilies - please see photographs 6 - 7.

Denise had used a retired doily for her swap so I did a practice run on one new and one old doily, and I experimented with Cherry Cobbler Ink and Archival Basic Black Ink on each doily.

I was disappointed how they came out, although looking at them now in the photographs, I think they would have worked beautifully.

Looking at them in real life, the greeting appeared very broken, but it looks a lot clearer from a short distance.

It doesn't matter for today's card which I'll save until tomorrow! Watch this space! I'm sorry that today's post is a bit of a tease, it wasn't intentional and it certainly won't become a habit!
