Hello, Crafters.
I went through my swaps yesterday to look for some inspiration for today's card.
Not surprisingly, I picked out several that I thought would work well.
I chose the swap I received from Sarah Wickins - check out her blog at: sarahsmakeries.blogspot.co.uk.
I like Sarah's swap because it's clean and simple, right up my street!
The last photograph is Sarah's swap.
I started my card with a base of Elegant Eggplant Cardstock (CS), a layer of Whisper White CS and a top layer of Elegant Eggplant CS.
I adhered the middle layer to the card base and worked on the top layer.
Where Sarah used a doily on her swap, I used the largest stamp in the Frosted Medallions Stamp Set.
Apart from the colour, the only other change I made, was that I cut off the top of the bauble so I was working with just two circles.
It also meant that I didn't need to use the Thick Baker's Twine.
I wiped over the CS with my Embossing Buddy and stamped the Medallion Stamp in Versamark.
I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it.
I used the plain round bauble die with Elegant Eggplant CS and then the Christmas Tree Bauble die with the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.
I adhered the tree on top of the plain bauble using Tombow and then adhered it to the centre of the medallion, again with Tombow.
I wiped the bottom half of the card front with my Embossing Buddy and stamped the sentiment, which is from the Oh, What Fun Stamp Set, in Versamark.
I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it.
The final step was to adhere the card front to the card base, and hey presto, I have a striking, clean card that was inspired by a Telford swap.
This is exactly how swaps should work!
I'd like to say a big thank you to Sarah for her swap, it truly was inspiring - THANK YOU, SARAH!
Tomorrow I shall be at the Gingham Goose Craft Market at Hayes Village Hall.
If you're in the area and would like to find some very special Christmas gifts, do pop in - it'll be great to see you!
Please see my Events page for full details.
That's it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
Love these! Tried to go to Sarah Wickins blog but it appears she hasn't posted there since July. Perhaps she has a different blog now. I really want to try these! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi, Cherie. I'm so pleased you're going to give these a go! ☺ I'll check with Sarah to see if she has a new website. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the products Sarah used, please ask me as I'll be able to help you. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
