Cardmaking Again!

Hello, Crafters.

I'm back to cardmaking! YAY! I feel that I haven't make a card for ages!

Although I have some new stamp sets from the Spring catalogue, I'm not going to be using any yet because launch day is too far away!

And I'm still looking forward to, and planning for Christmas!

Today's card is a 3D Christmas tree.

I started with a card base of Whisper White Cardstock (CS), with a layer of Old Olive CS and a top layer of Whisper White CS.

I dry embossed the top layer using the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF).

Using Tombow, I adhered the three pieces together.

I added some wet glue on the tree trunks and branches and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

To create the tree, I Used Old Olive CS and Ink.

I stamped three trees from the Santa's Sleigh Stamp Set and die cut them using the tree die from the Santa's Sleigh Framelits Dies.

I used my Scoring Board to create a score line down the centre of each tree so that I could fold the trees in half easily, and achieve a clean fold line.

I used a white gel pen and painted "snow" on the ends of the branches.

Then I painted the trees using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

Using Tombow, I glued the three trees together.

I applied more Tombow and adhered the tree to the card base.

It wasn't until I was getting ready this morning that it dawned on me that there's a small bird on the Tree Builder Punch.

So that's the easy option for the birds on this card, although next time I think I'll use Real Red CS.

My way was to stamp the bird from the First Sight Stamp Set using Versamark and heat embossing it using White Embossing Powder.......................and then fussy cutting.

That really tested my patience level because they're so small and fiddly! LOL!

I used a fine black marker to add a small eye on each side of the bird's head.

I adhered the birds with Tombow and painted both sides with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

The final step was the sentiment which is from the Seasonal Bells Stamp Set.

I inked my stamps with Versamark, then inked it with Old Olve Ink and stamped onto a piece of Whisper White CS.

I sprinkled it with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.

Once I had cut it ut by hand, I adhered it to the card front using Dimensionals.

This card is very 3D but will fold flat enough to go inside an envelope.

I don't think there'll be any doubt in the recipients minds that they need to pull the trees out a bit to get a great 3D effect.

I sooo enjoyed being back in my studio yesterday - I didn't realise how much I'd missed it!

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
