Christmas Magic Snowman Card No. 3

Hello, Crafters.

I hope you have a really great weekend.

Today we have woken up to a beautiful, sunny winter’s day with an amazingly heavy frost.

Today’s card is the third one I made when I was on a roll on Wednesday, using the snowman image from the Christmas Magic Stamp Set.

After having made the first two cards prominently white, I decided to make this one using Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I started my card with a base of Crumb Cake Cardstock (CS) with a layer of Whisper White CS and a top layer of Crumb Cake CS.

The DSP I chose is from the Candy Cane Lane DSP, and I cut a wide strip to fit the width of the top layer of Crumb Cake but leaving approximately 0.75” exposed top and bottom.

I adhered this to a layer of Whisper Whit CS, leaving a very thin strip exposed top and bottom.

I painted these white edges with my two-way glue pen and then dipped them into my Dazzling Diamonds.

As previously, I stamped the snowman using Basic Black Archival Ink onto a square of Whisper White CS.

I painted him slightly differently from the previous two cards and used the following Marker Pens: carrot nose – Pumpkin Pie; holly leaves – Wild Wasabi; holly berries – Real Red; hat and buttons – Smokey Slate; gloves – Crumb Cake; scarf – Crumb Cake & Real Red; left twig arm – Soft Suede.

Using my two-way glue pen, I painted the snow mound the snowman is standing on and dipped the image into my Dazzling Diamonds.

I adhered the image with Tombow to a layer of Crumb Cake CS, and left a small amount exposed on all four sides.

I painted around these four sides with my two-way glue pen and then dipped them in Dazzling Diamonds.

The sentiment I chose is also from Christmas Magic Stamp Set, and I stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White CS using Basic Black Archival Ink.

As with the snowman image, I adhered the sentiment with Tombow onto a layer of Crumb Cake CS, and left a small amount exposed on all four sides.

I painted around these four sides with my two-way glue pen and then dipped them in Dazzling Diamonds.

The final touch was to adhere the image and the sentiment to the card front using Dimensionals!

Looking at my finished card now, it would also look nice if I’d added some small snowflakes or stars stamped tone on tone or with Versamark in the plain Crumb Cake area above and below the DSP.

What do you think?

I hope you’ve enjoyed my exercise in making the most of the versatility of this stamp set, over these last three days.

The layouts and ideas I used for these three cards can be used for many different images currently available, as well as the sentiments.

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
