Star of Light

Hello, Crafters.

Yesterday I had my first play with the Star of Light Stamp Set and the coordinating Starlight Thinlits.

The first thing I did was to get some retired cardstock - Lost Lagoon - and tested all the dies to see what result was achieved with each!

I adhered the die cuts to the back of the cardboard that the magnetic sheet, that I store my dies on, is attached to!

I didn't really have a design in mind for this card.

All I knew was that I wanted to use the sun stamp from Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set, so the rays shine out from behind the star.

I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought it looked stunning.

To make this card, I started with a base of Whisper White Cardstock, then a layer of Night of Navy, and a top layer of Whisper White, which I wiped with my Embossing Buddy.

I inked up the stamp using Versamark and stamped the sun towards the top of the top layer, so I had plenty of room for the sentiment.

I sprinkled it with Silver Embossing Powder and heat set it.

I took a piece of Night of Navy and wiped over it with my Embossing Buddy.

I chose the large patterned star in the Star of Light Stamp set, inked it with Versamark and stamped onto the Night of Navy.

I sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it.

I die cut it using the plain large star from the Starlight Thinlits.

I wiped another area on the cardstock with my Embossing Buddy so I could stamp the sentiment with Versamark.

The sentiment is from the Star of Light Stamp Set.

Once I stamped the stamp, I sprinkled White Embossing Powder over it and heat set it!

I found a die in the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits Dies which fitted the sentiment beautifully - must remember this die!

I adhered the three layers of the card together using Tombow and then attached the star over the top of the sun, using Dimensionals.

Then I used Dimensionals to attach the sentiment near to the bottom of the card front.

My final touch was to overdose on Rhinestones, but it really does make the card sparkle - see the last photograph!

I also added two Rhinestones to the sentiment, in the centre of the two squiggle patterns!

A very clean, simple card which I'm pleased with - hope you like it, too.

That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
