My First Eskimo

Hello, Crafters.

Every year Stampin' Up! organise an Incentive Trip for demonstrators who earn enough points through their sales and team building. Next year the trip is to Thailand and for the first time, I'm very, very close to earning the trip! But I need to earn a few more points and I have to do it by 11 pm on Friday, 30th September 2016 - yes, tomorrow!

Is today's card too simple? I kept going to put some Designer Series Paper (DSP) on a layer of Cherry Cobbler,  as a strip across the middle, and then I tried the Fancy Frost Specialty DSP instead of the plain Whisper White Cardstock. To create the Eskimo, I used Basic Black Archival Ink and stamped one onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock which I punched out using the Cookie Cutter Punch. The second one I stamped onto a piece of a Cherry Cobbler Pattern from the This Christmas DSP.  I fussy cut this Eskimo out and removed the half moon shape of the face. I adhered the body and the head to the punched out Eskimo and coloured the face using a Marker Pen. 

I used my white gel pen and coloured the white trim around the hood, the cuffs and the bottom of the jacket. I adhered the Eskimo to a some Whisper White Cardstock that I'd die cut using the Layering Oval Framelets Dies, and layered this onto a scalloped oval, that I'd die cut from the same set of dies, of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. I wrapped a piece of 3/8" Silky Taffeta Ribbon Cherry Cobbler ribbon around the top layer and adhered it at the back with SNAIL. I adhered the two layers and the card base together using Tombow. I used Dimensionals to adhere the Eskimo to the card front.

Using Cherry Cobbler Ink, I stamped the sentiment from the Seasonal Bells Stamp Set and cut it out by hand. Then I attached it to the card front using Dimensionals. I was tempted to use the white Mica Flakes or possibly Dazzling Diamonds on the white fluffy trims but decided to leave it as it was. I'm happy with the clean and simple look of this card but it's probably not everyone's cup of tea!
