For my Australian Family & Friends!

Hello, Crafters.

Today's card is a little bit of silliness! LOL!

I wanted to make the koala using the Fox Builder Punch. Out of the masses and masses of different animals I've seen created with this punch, this is my favourite!

I hope you can see his ears peeping out from the hat as that's the real giveaway that it's a koala, although I think the snout is a big clue, too!

My idea for my card was to make one koala, and feature him in the centre of my card front. But when I saw the "Ooops, what have you done" look on the face, I made two more!

Then I had to think of something that they could have done wrong and decided to tilt the sentiment with the koala dad looking at it with a very surprised look on his face. Are you still with me, or do you think maybe I've lost my marbles! (LOL)!

To make this card, I started with a base of Whisper White Cardstock, then a layer of Real Red and a top layer from the beautiful Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP), which arrived in my order yesterday - see page 37 in the new Christmas catalogue.

You get 12 sheets of 6 designs of 12" x 12" all-over dry embossed cardstock in white - it's gorgeous! I adhered all three layers together using Tombow.

I went through my "body bags" and took as many Smokey Slate punched out body parts that were there, and punched out the rest, as well as more Whisper White hair tufts, using the Fox Builder Punch.

Using the Jolly Hat Builder Punch, I punched three Santa's hats using Real Red, and then three hat trims and three pompoms using Whisper White. I put my koalas together using Tombow.

To make the snouts, I used an old non-Stamping Up! tulip punch and trimmed them to shape!

Then I looked for something oval for the eyes. I found exactly what I needed in the Sprinkles Punch. It also has a larger oval that I think might be ideal for the snout - much smaller than mine. I'll try it next time to see if it's big enough.

I added the white to the eyes with a gel pen and then I used one of the fine tipped Journalling Pens for the centres of the eyes.

Using a stamp from the Cookie-Cutter Christmas Stamp Set, I stamped three bows on Whisper White using Real Red Ink and punched them out using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.

I used two as bow ties and one as a hair ribbon. I added a little heart for the girl kaola. I added Dazzling Diamonds to the pompoms, hat trim and the heart.

Using Dimensionals, I attached the koalas to the card front, offsetting the positions of the koalas so the little girl appears to be sitting behind her brother and with dad looking very shocked at the sentiment.

The sentiiment is from the Seasonal Bells Stamp Set. Using Basic Black Archival Ink, I stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White and cut it out by hand.

I used my Real Red Marker Pen to colour the pennant ends. I used Dimensionals to attach the sentiment, very much at an odd angle, to the card front.

I hope you've enjoyed today's fun card! Until tomorrow, happy crafting!

  2. Love it. Every time I see somebody use the Foxy punch I would never have thought the "critter" that was made, came from it. Hmmmm! Re-thinking about ordering it after all :o)
