Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder

Hello, Crafters.

I hope you've had a great weekend.

Yesterday, I finally had a play with the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and it works brilliantly!

I don't know if it actually shows in the close-up photograph of the actual embossed layer, but the thickness of the embossing is amazing - see the last photograph.
 
The instructions to achieve perfect results are to lightly spray your cardstock with water before embossing. 

I lightly sprayed my top layer on both sides before I put it through my Big Shot.

For the sandwich you need the new Big Shot Platform and just ONE cutting plate. 

As always with these large embossing folders, you should put it through your Big Shot fold first. 

To create today's card I started with a base of Whisper White Cardstock, then a layer of Crumb Cake, and a top layer of Whisper White that I'd embossed using the Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder. 

I adhered all three layers together using Tombow. 

For my images, I chose the small spotted stocking in the Hang Your Stocking Stamp Set, and stamped three onto a piece of Whisper White in different colours. 

The colours I used were Real Red, Garden Green and Crumb Cake.

I die cut them using the small stocking die from the Christmas Stockings Thinlits dies.

This stamp set and coordinating dies are on page 15 of the new Christmas 2016 catalogue and are on offer as a bundle which saves 10% on the individual prices!

I took the small bow from the set of dies and die cut one each in Real Red, Garden Green and Crumb Cake. 

I took another piece of Crumb Cake and die cut the NOEL which looks as if it's sitting on a shelf. 

As the top layer is very deeply embossed, I adhered the NOEL by gluing just the shelf and the tops of the four letters. 

I placed the shelf along the non-cable part of the design and the tops of the letters on the very top of the cable design.

I used Glue Dots to adhere the three stockings, which gives them a minimal extra bit of dimension, and left about 1/8" gap between the shelf and the top of the stocking.

I applied Tombow along the back centre of the bow - the part that is attached to the shelf and the right hand side tail of each bow. 

I'm confident that, with this careful placement of glue with the die cuts, this card with travel through the mail without arriving at its destination having been pressed down into the embossing. 

The final step was I painted the three bows with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.

It's an exciting day for me! At 3.45 pm this afternoon hubby's taking me to the hospital for the injection into my facet joints. I'll let you know tomorrow how it all goes!
