What a lovely start I had to my day yesterday. I had my Stampin' Up! delivery via UPS at 8.30 am! This included my Christmas catalogue pre-order goodies, the new catalogues in all three languages - that's a first! - and the hostess gifts for my July customers!
Once I'm back from the Post Office, I'll be working on tomorrow's video, which I'm hoping is going to be the clutch bag. I just need to test out my plan for the side crease first. If that goes according to plan, I'll get it done with time to spare. ☺
In my delivery yesterday, I had a pack of the Irresistibly Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). This has been on my wishlist ever since I first saw it in the catalogue. I originally fell in love with this style of DSP when we first had it in Sale-A-Bration (SAB) in 2015. The patterns in the current set are every bit as gorgeous as the SAB set was.
It was at this point I had to decide what I was going to do for the middle white layer, the sentiment layer and for the birds. You may consider what I did next was somewhat extravagant but the result is well worth it. I used the reverse side of the DSP for the middle layer; also for no. 2 scalloped oval die cut to layer the sentiment on; and finally for stamping the two birds on and then die cutting them both.
really pleased with the finished result. One thing I didn't mention previously was that I was disappointed that my white embossing looked quite creamy up against the white DSP. However, once I'd put everything together, it looked more like a very light version of Sahara Sand rather than a creamy white. Can you see what I mean? All in all, I'm very pleased with my finished card and I'd certainly use my Irresistibly Floral DSP for layering and stamping on my future cards.
I hope you have a great weekend and until tomorrow, happy crafting.

Really lovely Jan, and really so simple. I will definitely be giving this one a go ... have my bundle arriving in about a week. Love how you've layered the tree ... another one of those small details that makes such a big impact! ***** another 5 star card!! TFS!
ReplyDeleteHi, Geraldine. You decided to go for it! You won't be disappointed! It can also be used for Christmas cards, too. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
