Clutch Bag Video

Hello, Crafters.

Ooops! That's the second time I've done that recently - pressed Enter too soon and my blog was posted! I am sorry and really will learn to be more careful!

This morning I posted my video that shows how I made Kelly's Clutch Bag. It's almost the same as Kelly's Box Bag but has an additional step to include the top closure.

 
If you've seen the first video, you'll have seen the first clutch bag I made and what I wasn't happy about. At the time I said if anyone wanted to see a video, I'd work on sorting out the bit I didn't like. I was overwhelmed with the amount of requests I received asking for this video and I'm always happy to oblige! Hence today's video!

I'm so pleased with the end result and the really good news for me is that I've been able to amend the clutch bag from last week, too! So a big THANK YOU to everyone who requested the video! Let me explain about the problem and how I remedied it. The only part I wasn't ha[ppy with was the fold down the side of the bag. 

The creator was trying to make the bag as simple as possible with the least amount of score lines as possible. So the side fold was pinched together but when I tried to do it, it looked really second rate.

On my bag, I added two partial score lines so the cardstock would have a natural propensity to gravitate inwards without being pinched or folded. It worked a treat and I was absolutely thrilled! I also added some Designer Series Paper (DSP) on the side panels so the partial score line was covered. I found the net result was a beautifully curved clutch bag that feels really quite solid.

Photographs 1 & 2 - this is the clutch bag I made testing out plan A of dealing with the problem. Fortunately I didn't need plan B because there wasn't one! LOL!

The cardstock I used was Crumb Cake and the DSP is Affectionately Yours.I used Night of Navy and Crumb Cake for the flowers which were die cut with the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies

Photographs 3 & 4 - this is the bag I made in the video. The DSP is from the Neutrals DSP Stack and the cardstock is Basic Grey. There are two colours in this Stack where the flower and script designs are on a white background. The other colour is Soft Suede.

Photographs 5 & 6 - this is my first bag and I used retired products as it was a test bag! The last photograph shows where I covered my pinching, not perfect but it definitely looks a lot better like this than before.
