Hello, Crafters.
While
I was making the test Clutch Bag for yesterday's video, I was reminded
how much I love that particular design from the Affectionately Yours
Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).
I decided to make a card using it.
The flowers on this DSP match up brilliantly with the Love & Affection Stamp Set and also the Bloomin' Love Stamp Set.
To
make my card I started with a card base of Night of Navy Cardstock,
with a layer of Whisper White and a top layer of Affectionately Yours
Specialty DSP.
Then I took a smaller piece of Night of Navy to layer a Whisper White image layer on.
I
judged the size of it so I would have between three-quarters and one inch gap all
round the image.
I was determined I was going to have a large area of this beautiful DSP visible!
For
the image, I chose to use the smaller outline flower from the Love & Affection Stamp Set.
I stamped it three times onto a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock
using Night of Navy Ink.
I also stamped another three at the top of Post It Notes so that all three images would have some adhesive on them when they were cut out.
Then I patiently fussy cut all six images!
As my design developed, I only needed one from the Post It Notes but, at least I now have three ready for future projects.
I placed the three Crumb Cake flowers on my small piece of Whisper White in the positions I wanted to adhere them.
Then I moved the top flower and replaced it with the Post It Note flower in the same orientation I'd had the Crumb Cake one.
There were three different stamps for me to choose from to go behind the flowers. They were leaves, flowers or berries - I chose to use the sprig of "berries".
So I inked the stamp with Night of Navy Ink and positioned my stamp so the sprig would be visible between two petals.
Then I repeated this for the other two Crumb Cake flowers.
I
chose the sentiment from the Circle of Spring Stamp Set and stamped it
on the Whisper White image sheet in the bottom right hand corner.
This
left too much of a gap on the left hand side so I filled it with a
Night of Navy solid flower from the Bloomin' Love Stamp Set.
Then I used Tombow to adhere the Crumb Cake flowers in position, making sure they lined up beautifully with the berry sprigs.
All I needed to do then was to adhere all the layers in place with Tombow.
Now I'm thinking, would this design work just as well with a different DSP?
There's only one way to find out the answer to this!
That's about it for today. I hope you have a great week and until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
