Baby Bear Video & More Touches of Texture

Hello, Crafters.

This morning I posted my video showing how I made the Baby Bear Card I shared with you on Monday.

After I've shown a card here, I often change the colour scheme when I make a video and that's the case with this card.

I experimented with the Pink Pirouette before videoing and than did the Pool Party for the video.

I used Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake for the Baby Bear as opposed to Soft Suede and Crumb Cake I'd used for last Monday's bear, because I was using two colours from the Subtles family and needed a softer colour for the bears.

For today's card I used the Touches of Texture Stamp Set again.

I'm not sure what it is about this sprig of flowers but I find it really attractive!

I started my card with a base of Elegant Eggplant Cardstock, then a layer of Sweet Sugarplum and a top layer of Whisper White.

I used the Petal Burst Embossing Folder to dry emboss the top layer and then adhered all three together using Tombow.

Then I started to work on the image by stamping the long narrow lacy-like stamp three times vertically side by side.

I wanted the background to be quite feint so I used Sahara Sand Ink.

Using Archival Basic Grey Ink, I stamped the sprig of flowers onto the lacy-like background  and coloured it with Sweet Sugarplum and Mint Macaroon Marker Pens.

I layered this onto a piece of Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock and then onto Elegant Eggplant.

Then, still using Tombow, I adhered it to the card front in the bottom right hand corner.

Using Archival Basic Grey Ink, I stamped the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the Vertical Greetings Stamp Set onto a thin strip of Whisper White.

I layered this onto a strip of Sweet Sugarplum and then a strip of Elegant Eggplant.

I adhered this towards the left hand side towards the top, leaving the same amount of gap at the top as I did on the side.

The final step was adhering a bow I'd made using the Ruched Sweet Sugarplum Ribbon.

I used Tombow to attach it just above the top of the image.

That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

  1. It IS a very pretty floral sprig; I can see why you like it so much! Love the embossing folder you have used for the background also. The Baby Bear tutorial was also just wonderful! That just happens to be my favourite stamp in the entire catalogue & I WILL be doing it for a girlfriend who is expecting a baby boy in Autumn, so I'll likely go with the Pool Party option. Great card and great tutorial, once again, Jan! Thanks so much!
