Thank You Card Wallet

Hello, Crafters.

My apologies for the change in font on today's blog! I don't know why this has happened and I've tried correcting it but unsuccessfully! It appears correct on the draft but changes as soon as I click save!

This morning I uploaded my video showing how I made this Thank You Card Wallet. I saw a video showing how to make this, which had been made by Vicki McCarthy of Aussie Stampers. This is her website: http://www.aussiestampers.blogspot.com.au/.
 
I thought it was a great project and made one each for all my May customers and also as swaps for last Sunday. It was such a hit with everyone, I decided to make my own video. 
 
The wallet is a one sheet wonder project, and needs no cutting and no glueing. It holds five of our Notecards & Envelopes and makes an beautiful gift.

I didn't show how I made the gift card on the video but I did say that I would give the sizes and explain what I did on my blog today.

Before I explain though, I'll just tell you what the photographs refer to.

Photographs 3-4: this is the wallet I made in the video - I used a design from the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper (DSP)
Photographs 5: this is one of the swaps I made for last Sunday - I used four colours from the Regals Collection DSP Stack
Photograph 6: this is one of various designs I made for my May customers.
 
To make the Thank You card, I used one of our Notecards for the base. I used the same design for the card as I did for the wallet and it's from Pop of Pink Specialty DSP.

As the notecards measure 3 1/2" by 5", I cut one piece of the DSP to measure 3 3/8" x 4 7/8". I cut this is half at approximately 2 1/2" - obviously one half was a fraction shorter than the other but this would be concealed by the centre black strip.
 
I adhered both pieces to the card front and then adhered a Basic Black Cardstock strip that measured
3 3/8" x 3/4" across the join. Using Melon Mambo ink, I stamped the sentiment from the One Big Meaning Stamp Set onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.

chose no. 5 die from the plain heart shapes and die
cut the sentiment. At the same time I used no. 6 die to die cut a heart from Melon Mambo Cardstock.


I used Tombow to glue the two hearts together, offset, in the same way I had done on the wallet.

On the hearts on the wallet, I drew faux stitches on the Melon Mambo heart using my white gel pen, and on the white heart using my Melon Mambo Marker Pen.

I wasn't sure whether to draw the lines on the hearts on the cards as well - what do you think? 

I have two notes referring back to yesterday's blog. Rebecca has told me she used Dapper Denim for her flamingo to stand in - I should have realised that she was promoting two of the new colours. Thanks for the update, Rebecca. ☺
