Falling Flowers

Hello, Crafters.

I had several enquiries about how I did the ribbon on yesterday's Pretty Kitty card.

I explained about scrunching it up and also said I was working on another one but would be stitching the ribbon.

Once I'd completed it, I made a video showing both ways, which I'll be posting tomorrow.

For today's card I used the Falling Flowers Stamp Set and the May Flowers Framelits Dies - these two are currently available as a bundle with 10% off - page 127.

When I was working on the Pretty Kitty cards yesterday, I used four out of five of the new 2016 - 2018 In-Colours, so I decided to use the fifth colour - Sweet Sugarplum - for today's card!

To make today's card I started with a base of Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock, a layer of Whisper White and a layer of the coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack.

I adhered all three together using Tombow.

Using our Basic Black Archival ink, I stamped three branches and three of the small daisy flowers onto Shimmery White Cardstock.

I used my Pear Pizzazz Marker Pen to colour the leaves; the Sweet Sugarplum Marker Pen for the daisies; and Daffodil Delight for the flower centres.

Then I painted all of them with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen and die cut them out.

When I painted the daisies, I painted all over each petal first; then I went back and painted over one of the small sections in each petal three or four times to make that part darker than the rest!

I chose the two sentiments from the Confetti Celebration Stamp Set.

Using Sweet Sugarplum Ink, I stamped them onto Shimmery White Cardstock.

Then I used the now retired Word Window Punch to punch them both out.

This is one product that I really wish hadn't been retired!

I adhered the sentiments and the branches to the card front using Dimensionals.

Then I used Tombow to adhere the daisies straight onto the branches.

Although this isn't a typical design for me, I'm really pleased how this card turned out.

Sweet Sugarplum has always been one of my favourite new In-Colours but I haven't seen it looking as good as I think it does here on this card!
