Copper Embossing Powder

Hello Crafters.

Needless to say, the first part of my day yesterday was getting myself sorted out after a very exhausting  weekend.

When I packed up at the end of the day on Saturday at Biggin Hill, I made sure it was all packed in such a way that it was ready to be transported to the Warlingham Village Fair this coming Saturday.

I definitely work better when I'm organised!

Today's card is a little bit different from my regular style, I think!

I decided I wanted to use the new Copper Embossing Powder and I have to say, it's absolutely brilliant, I love it!

I wasn't sure how I wanted to use it, so I chose the Layering Love Stamp Set because that meant I could use the Layering Ovals Framelits, again.

I think I've used Layering Framelits on nearly all the cards I've made since my first proper order arrived last week! LOL!

To make today's card, I started with a Crumb Cake Cardstock card base, with a layer of Night of Navy and a top layer of the copper embossed design from the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Each of four sentiments in the Layering Love Stamp Set co-ordinate with one of the Layering Framelits Sets - ovals, circles, squares and hearts.

The first three sets all consist of straight cut dies and scalloped dies.

The hearts, which are called Sweet & Sassy Framelits consist of sweetheart-shaped hearts - that's with a small curve at the base of the heart - and regular shaped hearts.

I used my Embossing Buddy on my Crumb Cake Cardstock, inked my stamp in Versamark and stamped down.

I sprinkled this with the Copper Embossing Powder and heat set.

I die cut this with a straight-cut oval and then layered it on two scalloped ovals of different sizes.

I adhered this in the centre of the card front using Dimensionals.

Then I die cut two decorative strips from the Flourish Thinlits Dies.

They were a tad too long for the front of the card but it was easy to trim one end so it looked identical to the opposite end.

I'm off to work today and will be back after I've stopped at the Post Office.

I hope you have a lovely day, and until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.

  2. Yes I do love this card, I think the copper embossing and DSP goes well with the navy card. it is such an elegant card. did you pierce the scalloped ovals?

    1. Hi, Teresa. No, I used a pen and dabbed little spots instead - another little something extra that adds quite a bit to a card. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
